Juan Vandervoort K7 Vienes de la empresa K7. ¿Qué cargo desempeñas? Soy ANR Senior. ¿Te explico lo que es? ANR quiere decir Artistas y Repertorio. Quiere decir que firmas con los artistas para el sello. Senior quiere decir... K7 era un sello, ahora es un grupo de sellos, incluye muchos sellos, así que firmo con artistas para algunos sellos y para los demás doy el visto bueno a que firmen; digo “OK, adelante”. Pero en realidad no trabajo ni con los sellos ni con los artistas, es más algo financiero, tipo, “OK, podeis hacerlo”. ¿Viniste al IMS el año pasado? No. ¿Y habías estado antes en Ibiza? Sí. ¿De vacaciones? No, no exactamente. Mayormente sí, eran unas vacaciones, pero más que nada eran viajes. Trabajaba para otros sellos que de repente decían: “Nos vamos con toda la empresa tres días a Ibiza”. Así que eran vacaciones, pero rodeado de compañeros de trabajo, casi como trabajo. ¿Qué crees que puede ofrecer Ibiza en cuanto a vacaciones al turismo, a las personas que vienen aquí a divertirse, a escuchar música...? Creo que Ibiza es una isla preciosa, es maravillosa. Pero creo que la gente de todo el mundo ya se ha hecho una idea de lo que es Ibiza y creo que Ibiza Xpression
What’s your name? Juan Vandervoort. You come from K7. What’s your function? I’m Senior ANR. Do you want to know what that means? ANR is Artists and Repertoir. It means you sign the artists for the label. Senior means... K7 was a label, now it’s a label group, there’s a lot of labels in there and so, I sign artists for a few labels and for all the other ones I approve their signing; I say, “OK, go ahead”. But I don’t really work with the labels or the artists, it’s more financial, like, “OK, you can do it”. Did you come to IMS last year? No. And have you been in Ibiza before? Yes. For holidays? No, not really. Mostly yeah, it was a holiday, but mostly trips. I used to work for other labels that then said, “We’re going with the whole company for three days to Ibiza”. So it was a holiday, but it was full of colleagues and kind of work. What do you think Ibiza can offer in terms of holidays to tourism, to people who come here to have a good time, to listen to music...? I think Ibiza is a beautiful island, it’s amazing. But I think a lot of people around the world have already made up their minds on Ibiza and I think there are some challenges for Ibiza in the future. To be more... this is already part of it, although it’s connected to clubbing, but there’s more to Ibiza than just a beautiful island and crazy clubbing. Because the clubbing makes you a little bit fragile as a tourist industry, I think, because internationally you rely on people to come here and, internationally, dance music at the moment is not as big as it was five years ago.
