Why experiences make us happier … Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer. You’ve probably heard those wise words before. They could have come from psychology professor Thomas Gilovich, who scientifically proved in a 20-year study at C ornell that the joy we gain from material possessions doesn’t last as long as the satisfaction we get from investing in a special experience. This trend can be observed most clearly among Millennials (people who were born roughly between 1980 and 2000), and it’s one of the reasons we have dedicated this issue entirely to travel. In addition to sharing our personal selection of exceptional destinations, we feature some of the extraordinary personalities who have devoted their lives to creating unforgettable experiences and memories for their clients or guests: Izak Senbahar, Michael Poliza, Christoph Henkel and Liran Wizman. Allow us to take you away on an inspirational journey from the American West to Manhattan’s Upper East Side – and all the way to the Seychelles. We hope you enjoy the new issue! Yours,

Last May, Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper also stayed at The Mark with his girlfriend Irina Shayk (in the photo, they’re leaving the hotel to attend the Met Gala). Now, you can even take home a little bit of The Mark glamour: The dinner plates and other accessories are available for sale in The Mark’s new online shop.
