Brooke McMillin and Dana Peck, Certified WERQ Instructors WERQ is the fiercely fun dance fitness class based on pop, rock, and hip hop music. The signature WERQ™ warm up previews the dance steps used throughout the class, and WERQ’s unique “3Q1” method of cueing ensures participants are able to follow the instructor with ease. Students blast away calories and build cardiovascular endurance dancing to the latest charttopping hits. The WERQ™ cool down combines yoga-inspired static stretching with balance poses. Dancers and non-dancers alike love this WERQout. WERQ is taught by Certified Fitness Professionals, so the WERQout is safe and effective. This is a “hands on” opportunity to learn the North America Low Impact Method of Pole Walking and try different poles to find which work best for you. Turn a simple walk around the park into an efficient, effective, aerobic total body workout. With pole walking ,you can increase your energy level and increase your cardiovascular level on your own schedule. Pole Walking burns up to 48% more calories than ordinary walking, reduces tension in the neck and shoulders, lessens the impact on the knees and joints, and is suitable for all ages.
Pole walking is a great way to combine being outdoors with an ideal fitness activity for all ages. After taking our Pole Walking Workshop, sign up to participate in this weekly class to enjoy the summer season, be motivated to keep moving, and refine your technique. Walking is one of the easiest ways to add exercise to your day, manage your weight, decrease your health risks, and have fun. If you have a good pair of walking shoes, a water bottle, and a pair of Poles, this class is for you! Each participant will be encouraged to walk at their own pace.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Our NEW Greenfield Sidekicks program gives Greenfield Community Members a way to meet new people, earn volunteer hours, and strengthen our community through volunteerism. We are currently seeking volunteers or volunteer groups for the following positions: CleanUp GreenUp: Saturday, May 18th (bag pick-up 9:00-10:30 AM) • Help clean-up Greenfield’s schools, businesses, and parks • Each participant in your group will receive a coupon for a day at the Milwaukee County Zoo or at a Milwaukee County Pool of your choice • Must complete a registration form to participate Youth Sports Coach: Dates and Times Vary Drop by the Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department, Room 200 in City Hall or contact Mikayla Schwab at (414) 329-5373 for further information on current volunteer opportunities, and how to become a Greenfield Sidekick.
