SUNSET SEASON: In 2009 the City of Sarasota Sports Complex is hosting the Reds’ spring training activities for the 12th and final season...next year the organization will move its spring training site 20 miles west of Phoenix to Goodyear, Arizona...the Reds will share the Goodyear Ballpark and Recreational Sports Complex with the Indians, who moved into the facility last fall...Cin’s portion of the plans includes a 40,700-square foot clubhouse, 6 full practice fields and 2 half fields...the teams will share the 10,000-seat ballpark...the Reds’ agreement includes a 20-year lease and two 5-year team options...next spring, 15 Major League Baseball clubs will train in Arizona and 15 will train in Florida.
