DESIGN FROM EXPERIENCE

Beton Tower range of vertical mixing plants are representing the state of the art technology for industrial concrete production. Being Simem a relatively new comer into this segment, it has been approached with an innovative design, based on the willing to offer enhanced features compared to the traditional cylindrical frame plants. The square section of the Beton Tower plants has been preferred because of several main significant advantages: 1. it allows the complete hot dip galvanisation for the entire frame as well as for the aggregates storage bins. This is a significant advantage when considering the average life time of a tower plant, ranging between 20 to 40 years. Galvanisation offer a much better protection of the surfaces, thus reducing the requirement for maintenance and repainting.

2. the geometry of the individual aggregates bins is rectangular and it allows the positioning of the extracting gate in the centre of the basement, thus avoiding any wear along the side walls of the bins themselves. On contrary, the cylindrical type towers are exposed to significant wear on the side walls of the bins, because of the obligated position of the extracting gates right in the corner of each triangular segment of aggregates storage.


3. the flat surface on the outside of the tower allows the easy installation of cladding panels, offering the choice between different type of materials for both insulation and architectural requirements.

Eurocomp – Beton Tower T88 installed in Brescia for the new Eurocomp factory. The production is ranging from structural elements to wall panels and covering elements, thus requiring as much flexibility as possible to the concrete mixing and distributing plant. The BetonTower has been configured with asymmetrical storage for 550 m3 aggregates, vibratory feeders, 2 MSO 3000 twin shaft mixers, 5 flying buckets for concrete delivery along the factory

ICN – Beton Tower T88 installed in Belfiore for ICN Co. within the new hollow core elements production factory. The plant is configured with 600 cubic meters storage capacity for aggregates which are loaded through a 76 m long belt conveyor. The supporting frame of the conveyor has been designed with a single central pillar for minimising the interferences on trucks traffic in the yard.

The SIMEM Beton Tower plants have been designed with a modularity scheme which allows to adapt the configuration to individual requirements of each production site. The aggregates loading system could be adopting either belt conveyors, when space requirements are not an issue, or alternatively vertical bucket elevators in order to keep the area of the plant as compacted as possible. The aggregates storage capacity could be ranging between 130 up to 550 m3 and the division in compartments could be adapted to the mix design required in order to use proportionally the entire volume of the storage.

The dosing system for aggregates could be also configured with different systems such as pneumatic gates, belt conveyors or vibratory feeders: if required a combination of the various systems could be also adopted in order to maximize the batching accuracy especially within precast factories. The mixing platform could be organised with one or two mixers depending on the production volumes and quality; in the same way the weighing systems could be also operated simultaneously or alternatively for the two mixers.

Aggregates dosing system

Main control panel – The control board of Beton Tower plants are designed with modular elements which are connecting all the elements of the process with a bus-system. This process allows individual control of each motor and maintenance performed during production within most strict safety regulations.

Rivoli – Beton Tower T88 installed in Rivoli for Rivoli Prefabbricati. Due to restricted area available on the site, it has been preferred to use vertical bucket elevator for transporting aggregates on top of the 550 m3 storage capacity bins. The plant is equipped with 2 MSO 3000 twin shaft mixers and it is integrated with a flying buckets concrete transporting system to the precasting factories.

Irpinia Calcestruzzi – The existing tower plant in Avellino has been completely renovated and integrated with 2 MSO 4500 twin shaft mixers, in combination with one dry leg for direct load into truck mixers. The output capacity of the plant has been significantly increased up to 300 m3 per hour in order to satisfy the huge production volumes of Irpinia Calcestruzzi.

Esse Solai – Beton Tower T75 installed in Vicenza for Esse Solai Co. within the new hollow core elements production factory. The plant is configured with 350 m3 storage capacity for aggregates, one SUN 3000 planetary mixer and concrete distribution system with sliding buckets and bridge cranes to follow the hollow core machine.

Represents the right solution to be used on urban areas or inside existing production factories with reduced space available in where large concrete production is needed.
