Your work is so colourful and has a vintage vibe. When did you decide this was your style and is it something you are constantly evolving? I guess I’ve always been drawn to vintage design. From my college days I really started becoming obsessed with 50s and 60s design and this has continued to influence my work. I am however aware that trends change and as a designer I need to adapt and stay current. My work has changed slightly, I am always trying to stay fresh and design original patterns but luckily the trend for vintage and retro continues to be big. Are there any brands you would like to work with who you have yet to? Marimekko and Orla Kiely How did you secure an agent and would you recommend an agent to other creatives? I contacted agents with my portfolio and luckily have been represented by a number of great companies. I would recommend an agent, especially in the early years as it really gets you used to designing to briefs and tight deadlines. What are your future creative plans? I’m working on an Etsy shop finally. I think it’s about time I offered my designs on art prints, wrap, postcards and mugs. So I’m hoping 2015 will be a lot of designing for my own product range.
