Chairperson’s Report April has been a great month at the Bowling Club. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the Club over Easter and the School Holidays. ANZAC Day The Club was honoured to mark ANZAC Day with a great service led by Mr Micheal O’leary, Trustee/Secretary of Gerringong RSL and was very well attended by many in our community.. Our Deputy Chair Glenn Kolomeitz gave a very reflective speech on the lives of Returned Soldiers and what Governments and the community can do to better support our War Veterans. Gareth Ward our State MP was there to lay a wreath and it was great to see so many veterans and their families enjoying lunch and a lovely game of two-up out the back, which is a great Aussie tradition. A special thanks to all our staff for their fantastic effort on the day. In particular Lauren Parker for her meticulous organisation of the service. On behalf of the Gerringong Bowling Club we extend our warmest thoughts and prayers to all our Service Men and Women, past and present and their families. “Lest We Forget” Nominations for Club Committees Nominations are now open for members wishing to be more involved in the Club. The Committees are: Maintenance Committee Operations Committee Community Relations Committee Finance Committee All nominations are to be in writing and to include the committee you wish to be on and any experience or expertise you could bring to the committee. As I have said before, the Board is passionate about making the club the heart of our community. It is our desire that everyone can enjoy our club, and that

the club is delivering what the community expects particularly in relation to food, entertainment and facilities. This is where we need your input. So if you would like to be more involved in the club, please write to us. Please direct all nominations to Mr Luke Richards General Manager Gerringong Bowling Club Nominations close May 31st. I hope you all have a wonderful May. Good luck to all of our Gerringong sporting clubs who have just kicked off their winter season. Happy Mothers Day to all our special mums. I hope to see you all either around town or at the club. Best Wishes, Cherie Burton Chairperson On behalf of the Board of Directors

If you wish to contact the board directly, you can write to us or alternatively, we have now set up a Director’s email account (directors@gerringongbowlo.com.au), which enables members to have direct communication with the Board to let us know what is important to you.

Ladies Night

Oils & Winter Wellness Workshop with Rachel Addison FRIDAY 11 MAY 7PM WERRI ROOM

This workshop will cover how you can use Essential Oils to switch & ditch toxin-laden products for optimal health with a particular focus on staying well during winter, from radiant facial care tips during the colder months to respiratory and immune support for flu season and beyond. Let us show you how easy it is to kick all the chemicals to the curb by using a natural alternative without compromising on quality or effectiveness. There will be a brief crash course 101 for those completely new to oils as well as some more advanced practical usage information for those looking to build on their wellness toolbox. Indulge in some some wine or bubbles or share some nibblies with friends during a relaxing kid-free gathering. Complete with oily demonstrations, fun prizes and absolutely no pressure to buy anything if you decide they aren’t for you. This will be a fun opportunity to catch up with our beautiful friends while building our passion and business in natural living. About the Teacher: Rachel is a Gerringong mum who has been incorporating oils into her personal & professional life as both a Yoga instructor and Clinical Psychotherapist for many years. Her passion is in toxin-free living & using oils safely for optimal physical & emotional family health.

From the GM’s desk It’s been a pleasure joining your Club over the last month and it has amazed me what a wonderful, active and supportive community you are all blessed to live in. A little Background on myself - I have 12 year’s experience working in Clubs which started at the Gymea Tradies & recently managing Club Kirrawee for 4 years. I have come from a Blue-Collar family, working and living on Oyster Farms in the Sutherland shire. I am married to my beautiful wife Emily and have three beautiful children Rose, Harry & Grace. And yes, the rumours are true - they are Triplets! The Board and myself are in the process of writing a Strategic Plan, which our Chairperson Cherie Burton will inform members about as it progresses. But in the short term, I will be focusing on three important areas: High Quality Customer Service, Great Food & Community Relations. These areas are key to rebuilding and giving our Club success and a sustainable future. We are excited to announce our new Caterers starting in June - Keah’s Kitchen, which come with great experience and great success working out of Albion Park Hotel. Their menu can be viewed on their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ keahskitchen), which features pub Classics with flare and lots of great specials for families. Re-engaging the Community is something I am very passionate about and this is vital for the Club moving and rebuilding our image and brand. I have had positive meetings with all our sporting and community clubs and I am confident we are building & fostering great relationships moving forward where myself and the Boards goal is to make your club the hub of the community. Please come in and say hello, and enjoy your great club. Cheers Luke Richards General Manager
