16 September 2013 Dear Parents & Carers of Year 11 Students, The formal preparation of Year 11s for their leadership role in 2014 takes place during Term 4. The main focus will be two days of input and activities next month followed by the election of College and House leaders. On Friday 18 October, all of the Year 11s will be involved in their Big Day In which will be based on the theme of leadership. The Oxygen Factory with Glen Gerreyn will travel from Sydney to run this dynamic Day of Hope workshop in Duhig Hall. On Monday 21 October, the Year 11s will be involved in their Big Day Out. This will involve travelling to the CYCBurleigh Beach Campus, located in the Burleigh Heads National Park for a full day of outdoor team-building and leadership activities. These will include initiative games, an Amazing Race, surfing, tubing and much more. Buses will leave the College at 7.30 am and return by approximately 5 pm. Girls must be at school by no later than 7.15 am for roll marking and organisation. Please note that morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided for students on this day. Included with this letter is a list of requirements for the Big Day In and Big Day Out as well as an LHC consent/medical information form, a CYCBurleigh Assumption of Risk Form, and a CYCBurleigh Individual Dietary Summary Form. All three forms MUST be completed and returned to your daughter's House Coordinator by Thursday 19 September.

The leadership role of the Seniors at Lourdes Hill College is a vital part of the community structure and the preparation for that role is important. It is therefore expected that every Year 11 student will participate in all of the activities outlined above. We look forward to a dynamic and inspiring leadership program for the Seniors of 2014.

Yours sincerely
