As we reach our peak age at 40, we will have a lot to do to keep up with our appearances. Our skin loses moisture and elasticity, making it prone to wrinkles. There are a lot of products in the market as countermeasures such as botox and chemical peels, but remember prevention is always better than cure

Protection from the Sun The biggest contributor to the cause of wrinkles is no doubt the sun. People would advise you to lessen you exposure to the sun as much as possible. But avoiding the sun at all times is not practical at all. Just make sure to bring you protection for your skin such as hats and sunscreen.

Less Drinking and Smoking As the Greek saying goes: “All things in moderation�. If you don't want to suffer from wrinkles in the future then toning down on the alcohol and cigarette is a very good start. Both have long term effects on the skin which leads to wrinkles, so avoid if possible.

Anti-oxidants and Vitamins Having a daily regime of antioxidants and vitamins can greatly reduce the formation of wrinkles in the future. So go for fruits and vegetables that contain these antioxidants and vitamins A, C, E. Some anti-oxidant rich foods and beverages are tea, pomegrenates and blueberries. While vitamin rich fruits and vegetables such as spinach, sweet potatoes, red bell peppers and brocolli can bring you a much smoother skin.

Sleep It sounds unbelievable but sleep does affect the formation of wrinkles. Apart from getting enough sleep, your position is also important. Sleeping on your face will prevent sleep lines that will lead into wrinkles.

Be Happy! Last but not the least, being happy will not only lead to a healthier and stress free life, but it will also prevent wrinkles. Being stressed and depressed all the time will take a toll on your body, especially on your face, frowning creates creases in your face which eventually becomes wrinkles. So, smile all your problems away and keep the wrinkles at bay!
