3R MATERNAL FOCUS BUILDING BETTER BEEF COWS We focus on producing beef genetics that work in a commercial production environment. Key to this focus is the ability of heifers and cows to develop to puberty, breed early, sustain condition, calve easy and raise a strong, healthy calf. The ability to achieve these demands over a long period of time, seizsing opportunity to flourish and grinding through hard times, is critical to the value of a beef cow. The genetics at work in the 3R program are focussed on profitable beef production.

3R COMMERCIAL BREEDING FOCUS 5 KEY GENETIC GOALS > Calving ease derived from moderate birth weight with short gestation length; > Strong early growth with mid maturity point suitable for grass/short fed programs; > High carcase value & Producer profitability derived for early turnoff (growth & fat coverage), adequate muscling and 3+ marbling quality beef; > Build maternal cow herds featuring fertile, productive cows that last a long time under the stresses of commercial conditions & environment; > Utilise complimentary breeding traits of maturity pattern, calving ease, fat coverage, marbling and fertility to drive sustained higher herd profitability.

COMMITMENT TO ADVANCING > Large scale embryo transplant based breeding program to maximise reproduction of superior individuals; > Utilisation of industry-leading science practices including genomic testing of breeding stock; > Continual global search for the world's leading genetics including importation and marketing of genetics through Beefgen company; > Maximising industry knowledge and connections to capture future advancements; > A breeding program focussed on both the future demands of the beef supply chain (Producer to Consumer) while always recognising the factors that generate Producer profitability. It is our belief that 3R can help producers add unsurpasssed value to their production by providing exceptional beef genetics; > Long term R&D undertakings assessing longevity and performance.

ANGUS GENETICS

2020 SIRES The selection of sires is a task that requires great commitment. Our sires are selected for their combination of phenotype, genotype, alignment to market demands and suitability for the Australian environment. Uniquely our focus is 100% commercial and trying to select the sires who will not only produce valuable progeny but equally daughters that will hold down a place in a herd for many years and drive Producer profitability. We recognise the commercial cow is the factory of the beef industry. Each of our sires is backed by a depth of maternal excellence.

2020 PRIMARY ANGUS SIRES Powerpoint has quickly forged a reputation as a high calibre sire in the Angus breed globally. Bred from the function focussed, Spickler Herd, Powerpoint carries all the traits of a commercially relevant beef sire. His progeny are moderate at birth, growth quickly, are wide based and thick topped, feature a moderate maturity pattern and are efficient for an Australian grass based system. A son, Power Broker Q11, was added to our program in 2020 and will add another dimension to this line. S Powerpoint WS 5503 38 Special was our choice of the much admired Y69 flush. Isabel Y69 is among the greatest Angus cows in the breed's history and is a high strike rate sire maker. 38 Special was the highest performer of the flush and his progeny are now exhibiting the same moderate birth to high growth spread of their sire. Despite this performance they feature abundant marbling. 38 Special daughters in production feature picture perfect udders and raise heavy calves. Baldridge 38 Special

LD Capitalist 316

Capitalist 316 has been described as the 'Sire of Sires' and has seen incredibly high use throughout the global Angus population. Capitalist stamps his progeny with extra width, depth and length. He is a sire that can add functionality into larger cows with consistency and reign in later maturity patterned females for higher weaning weights and early turnoff. Following a visit to Musgrave Angus in 2019, Capitalist and his son, Musgrave Stunner, were added to the 3R program supported by the strength of their progeny.

2020 PRIMARY ANGUS SIRES Ashland is a sire that has intrigued many Breeders globally. He is the product of the illustrious Gardiner Angus (GAR) program. A program heavily focussed on carcase value and quality beef production. When visiting the GAR program in 2019 we appreciated the Ashland daughters in production and came away with the opinion that Ashland was multi-dimensional. In 2020 Ashland progeny proved highly popular across the USA and Australia selling to $475,000 USD (part share). G A R Ashland K25 Rainfall optimises our pursuit of quality breeding sires that are backed by superior breeding dams. Rainfall is a son of the Blackcap May 4136 female that has produced approximately $10M in progeny sales and many leading daughters retained. In our opinion Rainfall is her #1 son for his elite combination of phenotype, individual performance and EPD's notably his outlier marbling. Rainfall has been used in many of the leading herds in the USA with consistently high quality progeny the result. SAV Rainfall 6848

S S Niagara Z29

Niagara is a sire we selected for his combination of individual attributes and rich maternal value. Niagara is a direct son of the renowned maternal giant, Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam females are legendary cows that just breed on and on. Niagara daughters are forging the same reputation while the Niagara sons are now becoming cornerstone sires in many semen companies offerings. We believe the genetics behind Niagara, couple with his performance, position him as one of the leading cow makers in the future of the 3R herd.

Mill Brae Benchmark 9016 (USA) Coming from the USA to 3R in 2021 Benchmark is one of the most popular young sires in the USA today. He is an incredible individual and backed by the breeds leading genetics. Look for Benchmark progeny to add performance, structural integrity and maternal value. Top 20% EPD - CED, WW, YW, SC, HP, Milk, Foot, CW, REA

NEW SIRES

The following young sires were selected from the 2020 selling season as standouts not only within their herds but the industry. Each combines impressive phenotype, deep genetic lines and complete EBV profiles. They each offer genuine commercial relevance as designed for shortmedium finishing of quality beef and a valuable legacy of maternal value. These sires will be used in 2020-2021 to as the next evolution of the current Primary Sires and further build on the traits of importance 3R is striving to produce.

2020-21 NEW YOUNG ANGUS SIRES

Milwillah Power Broker Q11 (S Powerpoint) $40,000 High Seller - 3R Herd Sire

Power Broker was our selection from the 2020 Milwillah sale. We selected him after an extensive assessment of Powerpoint sons and considered him a clear standout. Power Broker features a very reliable pedigree in the complimentary mating of Powerpoint to his impressive Hector x Reality dam. He was also a standout performer amongst his large contemporary group recording the #1 weight, #1 EMA and #3 Marbling. We believe Power Broker will compliment the 3R herd in our pursuit to produce functional, efficient, long lasting beef cattle.

Quixote was the high selling lot in the 2020 Millah Murrah sale. He is the son of S Chisum, a sire again from he Spickler program in North America (S Powerpoint). Chisum progeny are consistently extra thick, deep bodied and weigh heavy with strong Angus breed type. Quixote appealed to the 3R program for his performance (#1 in his contemporary group), strong Angus breed type and depth of maternal pedigree.

Millah Murrah Quixote Q96 (S Chisum) $60,000 High Seller Quantum Leap was a standout lot amongst his contemporaries in the Texas 2020 sale. He is a beautifully balanced young sire with a degree of softness that may not be expected from such a carcase dominated pedigree. We have a number of H268 daughters in the 3R herd who feature high performance and combined with the carcase attributes of GAR Ash;land we believe Q29 will blend well with the 3R herd in increasing carcase without compromising on function. Texas Quantum Leap Q29 (GAR Ashland) $42,000 High Seller

MATERNAL FOCUS - ELITE 3R ANGUS DONORS We were fortunate to negotiate the purchase of Texas Pride E30 and in doing so established an Australian record for a mature Angus cow. In our eyes E30 is one of the elite breeding cows of her era. She is well designed and carries outstanding attributes in a very functional way. She is highly fertile and transmits this to her progeny. Her sons are exceptional individuals with huge body capacity, thickness throughout, structurally sound and meet the needs commercial beef Producers. The Pride Line Three generations of the Mayflower line were purchased from Clunie Range to establish the 3R Angus program. Matriarch, D124 (pictured), heads an exceptional Angus female line that consistently exhibits extra body capacity, slick skin, soft fleshing and excellent structural design. D124 and her descendants G338 and K328 have bred many outstanding sons averaging ~ $20,000 at sale while the daughters are without fail outstanding matrons. The Mayflower Line

The Undine Line

The Princess Line

The Undine line has been cornerstone at Texas Angus for many, many years. We were fortunate to have the rare opportunity to acquire a number of this wonderful line. In this family at 3R we have representation from the two prominent Undine's of their day; Z183 (dam of Mount and many others) and Z036 (dam of Global etc). These genetics have continued to validate their reputation at 3R and will, without question, be one of the strongest maternal lines in our future. The Princess line is another maternal line that we favour. Again, we acquired a number of generations of this line in establishing the 3R herd. Along with the Mayflower's the Princess line has underpinned much of the breeding program at Clunie Range. The Princess dam's L931, M492 & Q001 are all outstanding example of the tremendous maternal attributes of this line. They are long, smooth females with attractive outlook and perfect udders. The bulls produced from this line are robust & thick.

LINE ONE HEREFORD GENETICS

DEVELOPING AUSTRALIA'SÂ FIRST LINE ONE HERD In 2013 we visited the Cooper Hereford Ranch in Three Forks, Montana and began our affinity with Line One Hereford genetics. Linebreeding is a valuable technique in increasing predictability and honing the reproduction of desirable traits. No other beef genetics do it better than Line One. The L1 cow herds of Cooper's and Holden Herefords are absolutely worldleading. Since 2017 we have set about creating Australia's only Line One Hereford herd. To do this and maintain the absolute purity of the Line One cattle we have invested in donor females in the USA and imported embryos exclusively from these females. In 2018 an impressive group of heifers was bred and have excelled under testing Australian conditions.

2020 LINE ONE HEREFORD SIRES We were in Montana in 2018 to see 7131E sell for $170,000 (part share) and he was a 'man amongst boys'! 7131E is an exceptional individual by any measure. He is dark coloured, google eyed, long bodied, wide backed and quickly establishing himself as an elite breeding bull. The first 7131E calves in 2020 topped at $60,000 and were in high demand by commercially minded Ranchers. It is sires like 7131E that has driven the incredible resurgence of Hereford sales in the USA. CL 1 Domino 7131E 6007D is one of the most outstanding sires in the Hereford breed today in our opinion. We have seen him on a number of visits and he just continues to captivate on his shear width throughout. Without question he is the definition of a beef sire. 6007 is a maternal sibling to our 1010Y donor cow and therefore surrounded by a star studded maternal pedigree. With a true combination of phenotype, performance and pedigree 6007D is a versatile sire. HH Advance 6007D 7076E is a son of the elite HH Miss Advance 0121X cow that has had such an impact on the breed. This therefore also makes him a maternal sibling to our 4011B donor. 7076E has the distinct look of a sire. He is extra long bodied, proud headed and has a nice blend of functional muscling and marbling. We selected 7076E for his maternal lineage and his strong maternal attributes which we consider arguably the greatest strength of the Line One breeding program. HH Advance 7076E

WHY CHOOSE LINE ONE? The Line One breeding program was established in 1934 by the United States Department of Agriculture at the Fort Keogh Research Station in Montana and continues today as the world's longest-running beef cattle project. From the outset, the program has been entirely based on the utilisation of line breeding principles to maximum effect in the production of commercially aligned, profit focussed beef genetics. No other program has maintained the core focus and recording of relevant traits for as long as Line One. During the 85 years of line breeding the Hereford genome has separated from Line One genetics and therefore now Line One genetics generate maximum heterosis (Hybrid Vigour) when utilised on both non-Line One Herefords and other cattle breeds - heavier progeny and cows that last a long time. See more information on the history of Line One genetics at www.3rbeef.com.au/lineone-herefords

2020 YOUNG LINE ONE HEREFORD SIRES 8120F was the high selling lot in Holden's 2019 sale. In the flesh, 8120F is a carcase king with extra thickness and a wide top. He is arguably the leading son to date of Advance 6007D (above) and replicates the performance of his sire. We have been impressed with the 8120F progeny to date and they appear to feature early gain, extra muscling and a clean front end. Again the maternal consistency is a feature of 8120F with his dam a proven herd sire producer. HH Advance 8120F Rarely does a young sire that is so easy to use and versatile like 8132F arise. 8132F has been an exceptional individual since birth. He was the lighest male calf born in the Holden's 2018 drop but quickly accelerated his gain. He combined this performance with high marbling. The dam of 8132F is a 7th generation donor cow and a granddam of our 1010Y donor. The first group of 8132F progeny to sell in 2021 are simply outstanding and will be in huge favour with Cattlemen. HH Advance 8132F 7088E is another sire we are excited to utilise in the 3R program. He is an impressive individual and is breeding a line of very commercially orientated progeny. Consistent with the sires used in our Line One program 7088E combines carcase and performance attributes whilst also building the genetics in the maternal herd.

HH Advance 7088E

We always enjoy visiting Holden Herefords in Valier, Montana. On our last visit in 2019 we secured the $22,500 high selling heifer in their Miss Advance sale in partnership with Sadler Ranches, Oklahoma. Holden Herefords is a great place to visit for any Cattleman.

L1 MATERNAL FOCUS - ELITE 3R DONORS The picture-perfect example of a modern Hereford cow. We believe 4011B is one of the finest breeding cows in the USA today. She is the leading daughter of the immortal 0121X cow (sons to $240,000). 4011B EPD's position her as one of the leading highly maternal, high marbling cows in the breed. Her 2018 son was the highest marbling bull recorded at Holden Herefords in their 26 years of carcass recording. Owned with Holden Herefords. HH Miss Advance 4011B 1010Y is without doubt one of the leading Hereford cows of her generation. She has produced a number of leading stud sires and remarkable daughters that are breeding at the elite level. 1010Y is a maternal gem. She is a 6th generation donor cow and has now produced many donor daughters and granddaughters. Son, 7162E is the heaviest yearling ever recorded at Holden's. Seldom do females of this quality arise. Owned with Holden Herefords. HH Miss Advance 1010Y 1023Y was purchased in 2017 as our first purchase of a Line One female. She optimizes what L1 cattle are about - beautiful big volume cows, soft skinned, easy keeping and beautifully uddered. In 2018 1023Y son's were a feature of the Holden Sale selling to $25,000 twice and landing 1023Y as the highest averaging dam of the sale. In 2019 1023Y was resold after successful ET flushing.

HH Miss Advance 1023Y

HH Miss Advance 8025F

8025F was our $22,500 selection from the 2019 Holden Miss Advance Pageant sale. She is a magnificent brood cow in the flesh and has the look of an exceptional L1 breeding female. The genetics of 8025F are elite with her dam, 2022Z, one of the leading donors in recent times with her sire, 6007D, one of our all time favourite sires. The combination of phenotype, exceptional pedigree and exceptionally strong numbers make 8025F an exciting prospect. Owned with Sadler Ranch, Oklahoma.

POLL HEREFORD GENETICS

2020 POLL HEREFORD SIRES Endure 173D is quickly establishing himself as one of the finest breeding sires of the modern era. He stamps his progeny with a great consistency. His progeny are moderate birth and develop quickly. They weigh heavy and are a functional combination of all the traits that drive higher profitability. Despite all of the attributes Endure offers perhaps his greatest legacy will be his females. Endure is the product of a generations of exceptional maternal cows. NJW 79Z Z311 Endure 173D (USA) The Techno line from NZ has been strong in recent years. We selected 6179 as the most suitable of this line for our breeding objectives. He was the $51,000 high seller at Koanui and has gained admiration across the Tasman. He is slightly more moderate than this sire 3062 and offers easier fleshing and arguably more carcase shape. The first Techno calves in our program have impressed to date.

Koanui Techno 6179 (NZ) Fortune features an interesting outcross genetic line for the 3R herd. He was selected as the $50,000 high seller when sold and has since proven himself as a highly reliable calving ease sire with exceptional carcase numbers. The Fortune progeny are attractive for their dark colour, full pigment and extra length of body. We have used Fortune heavily and look forward to his influence in the 3R herd in the future.

Injemira Fortune M152

THE BALD FACED TRUTH We believe that Hereford genetics add significant value to any cross breeding program. The attributes of Herefords are, in almost any case, complimentary to the pursuit of producing a more commercially orientated, production focused beef animal. The much admired Black Baldie (Angus x Hereford) has cut a reputation for steers that weigh heavy, finish early and grade high while their sisters make long lasting breeding cows. We believe these cattle are well suited to the Australian grass/short fed industry and can deliver higher profits to the Cattleman. The American Hereford Association has proven the economic and production advantages of the black baldie in the commercial industry. See more information at www.3rbeef.com.au/the-baldie

2020 YOUNG POLL HEREFORD SIRES Broadway is an exciting young sire that we imported to Australia through Beefgen. He features a striking phenotype, incredible performance and a pedigree underpinned by the Churchill Lady line. Broadway has developed into a popular young sire in the USA with his first group of calves in 2021 looking to be very attractive propositions to both the stud & commercial Cattleman. The EPD profile of Broadway is very impressive with 'no holes' throughout. Churchill Broadway 858F (USA) We selected Power Quest as our chosen Endure son in the market today. As Endure was so popular and the semen quickly sold out in Australia we purchased a share in Q006 to secure our future supply of this genetic line. Q006 offers similar attributes to Endure including exceptional carcase shape, deep and wide body, easy fleshing and genuine eye appeal. Q006 also adds in an impressive cow family from Kanimbla. We anticipate Q006 will be a strong breeding bull in our program. Kanimbla Power Quest Q006 Klingon is arguably one of the very best products of NZ in recent times. He has been raised and developed under tough conditions in the deep south yet continued to breed high numbers of cows at an early age. Furthering the appeal of Klingon is his ability to slick off early and the beautiful skin and hair type he offers. The cow lines behind Klingon are the definition of longevity with generations of 10+ natural calves under tough conditions. Flagstaff Klingon P6 (NZ)
