Where life-long learning begins

What differentiates us

our curriculum, faculty and core values

GES offers an education to children aged from 3 to 11 years of age. It follows the English National Curriculum and offers a strong French programme. Subjects include :

- English - Mathematics - ICT - French

- Physical Education - Science - Art & Craft - Environmental & Social Studies

GES also provides learning support and a wide range of extracurricular activities including art, theatre, ICT, cricket, golf, dance, netball, rugby, running, judo and country dancing, not forgetting After School Care.

All activities in the school, academic and extra curriculum, on-site and off-site, are underpinned by six core values which today define Geneva English School.

Participation

as citizens of the world

We encourage our pupils to be aware of the world around them so they can become active citizens. This sense of responsibility extends from their immediate classmates to the school as a whole, from the local community to the world beyond. Throughout the year, GES staff and children are involved in charitable projects, including : •  Terre des Hommes, a worldwide federation which actively supports the welfare of children. •  Le Don Du Choeur, which provides resources for children in need around the world. •  Fondation L’Essarde, which offers rehabilitation care for disabled men and women. •  Paquets de Noël, which collects Christmas gifts for disadvantaged children living in Eastern Europe. •  Fondation Theodora, whose Clown Doctors brighten up the days of children in hospital. We plan to strengthen gradually our social impact in funding the GES Impact Fund to support ongoing and new projects in Africa, Asia and South America.

Creating impact together

Over the past 25 years, and thanks to the generous support of numerous contributors, GES has developed and enhanced education and has recently built a state-of-the-art new building. That long-term investment is proving to be extremely important to the future of GES and its capacity to play a key role in the provision of English language education in Geneva. Over the coming years, we aim to enhance further the quality and diversity of the children’s learning experience and our social impact.

Š GES 2013 – Creating Lasting Impact, together.

Geneva English School is small enough to enjoy a warm family atmosphere, in which everybody knows everybody, yet large enough to provide the benefits of a wider community. We are a happy school that places pupil welfare at the forefront of our work. We believe that content, confident children at ease with their peers and eager for new knowledge will always flourish academically.

It is said that there is a very special atmosphere here at the school. Some of that comes from our beautiful setting. Much of it comes from our highly talented and dedicated teachers. But most of it is apparent in the cheerfulness and enthusiasm of our children as they go about their day, secure in a caring environment, inspired by the many opportunities available to them, and sure of the finest education that Geneva has to offer.
