Youths from Seven Churches Strengthened in Christ in Nepal GEMS Nepal along with Chattiwan Christian Samaj organized a youth camp in Nepal through which 100 youths were revived to understand their identity and purpose in Christ. The youth camp at Hathisude in the Makawanpur district of Nepal from 30th Jan to 1st Feb 2017 and was coordinated by Bro. Purusotham (Area Leader, GEMS Nepal). Youths and teens from four GEMS churches, Hetauda, Hiramunni, Hartha and Mamthamar and from other churches participated in this camp which was conducted in the theme ‘Who are you. Bro. M.J. Mathews (Regional Director, North West Region) shared messages which challenged the youths to make the right choice, to be in God’s hand and not in the hand of Satan. Sis. Suriyakala Mathews helped the youths to understand God’s expectations and inner holiness.

Bro. E. Daniel (Coordinator, GEMS Nepal) through the message shared on the identity in Christ and their purpose in the church and world. Bro. Raju Lama taught on the biblical ways to overcome sin. Skit and quiz were held which helped the participants to understand the messages better. The youths committed during the final session in prayer and took decision to live for Christ. Pray for all the youths who participated in the youth camp in Nepal to become strongly rooted in Christ and in His word and to partake in building God’s kingdom. 4


Children Club Leaders Coached to Reach Children for Christ GEMS Children Wing conducted a seminar at the GEMS Auditorium in Bihar in which 430 club leaders from 12 zones participated.

The JET (Junior Evangelistic Thrust) wing of the children ministries of GEMS conducted the Club Leaders seminar in the theme â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;Towards the Goalâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; from 30th Jan to 1st Feb 2017 at GEMS Auditorium, Sikaria. Club leaders from Bhojpuri 1, Bhojpuri 2, Bhojpuri 3, Rohtas, Sikaria, Jharkhand, Vananchal, Sonebhadra, Peace 1, Peace 2, Magahi 1 and Magahi 2 zones participated.

PRAYER REQUESTS 1.GEMS Missionary Bro. Laldev Prasad Went to be With the Lord GEMS missionary Bro. Laldev Prasad (Paul David) aged 56 years, who was serving at Goh (Bihar) of Magahi 2 zone passed away on 25th January 2017. His body was laid to rest on 26th Jan at Damua, Jehanabad.

Bro. Laldev and his wife Sis. Kanchan Devi went to his home village in Makhdumpur on 24th Jan. They had cooked food, ate and slept in the night. The next morning (25th Jan) at around 11 AM not seeing them out, the troubled neighbours peeped through the window and finding them unconscious informed the police. The police took them to the hospital, where Laldev was declared dead while his wife recovered after several hours of medica-tion and fluids. The primary report suspects that he died because of suffocation caused through inhaling the smoke from the chaff fire pot kept inside the house to heat the room during winter. Bro. Laldev is survived by his wife and five children; Kundan (21), Ruby (20), Aradhana (14) and twin boys Ashish and Anand (10).GEMS family bereaves the death of its missio-nary Bro. Laldev. Pray for his family, church and fellow workers who are bereaving his death, that the Lord may comfort each one of them with His own comfort.

2. GEMS Missionary Sis. Charm Sheela Went to be With the Lord Sis. Dharm Sheela wife of Bro. Isaac Badal who was serving at Paliganj (Magahi 2 Zone) passed away in a road accident on 20th Feb 2017. The funeral service was held at Damua, Jehanabad on 21st Feb 2017. 6

We are bereaved to inform you that Sis. Sheela who was serving at Paliganj (Magahi 1 Zone) went to be with the Lord on 20th Feb at 9:30. She and her husband Bro. Isaac Badal (Ram Nagina) were on the bike, behind a truck and followed by another truck; because of a sudden jerk Bro. Badal lost balance and he fell on the left side and Sis. Sheela fell on the right and a speeding truck ran over her. Sis. Sheela died on the spot and Bro. Badal suffered fracture to his shoulder and ribs. The accident took place when Bro. Badal and Sis. Sheela were on the way from Paliganj to Arwal for a baptism service.Sis. Sheela is survived by her husband and five children, Sabna (who is married to Bro. Bindyachal) and work in GEMS at Sikaria, Amrita (25), Vinita (20) and Sheelam Rani (16) & David Raj (10) who study at GEMS School, Sikaria. Please pray that the Lord may comfort the family of Sis. Dharm Sheela, her husband, children and relatives and the Paliganj church believers and coworkers.

3. GEMS STORM (Students Out Reach Ministry) missionary Bro. A. Mohan Raj who is placed at Bhagalpur of Bihar is admitted at CMC, Vellore with multiple heart diseases. Bro. Mohan Raj is admitted at Christian Medical College hospital at Vellore with severe chest pain and is diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease and LV Pseudo Aneurysm. The doctors have planned for his medical stabilization for which Coronary Angiogram, Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting and LV Aneurysm Repair will be performed. Given the emergency the treatment will commence from 10thFeb 2017.Please pray for these medical procedures and for Bro. Mohan Raj to respond to the treatment well and for his complete recovery.

GEMS ITI at Madhubani Receives Affiliation and Admissions Open The new GEMS ITI at Madhubani (North Bihar) has been granted affiliation by NCVT and ac-credited by QCI. Admissions are open for session 2017-2018. The GEMS ITI at Madhubani will offer 2 years Diplomas courses in two trades – Fitter and Electrician; 42 seats are available for each course.
