Falmouth Oyster Festival, now in its 17th year, is a highlight in the annual calendar of events in Cornwall. The festival celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season and focuses on the mighty mollusc and its traditional methods of harvesting, using only sail and oar.

Grand Opening Bash at Events Square Thursday 10th October 10.30 – 11.30am A celebratory ‘bash’ to open the festival – highlights include an appearance by the Oysterman, oyster inspired performance by local schools, plus free balloons for all children.

Johnny will be supported on the night by the uplifting sounds of the Falmouth Community Gospel Choir.

Songs of the Sea At Events Square - Sat 12th October 7.30pm The festival will come alive with an evening of songs and shanties inspired by the sea. Includes local sea shanty Falmouth Shout, the entertaining Nauti Buoys, plus an optional ‘Sea Inspired’ Fancy Dress Competition - sailors, fishermen, surfers, mermaids are all welcome, with a very special prize for the best outfit! We will be raising money on the night for the Fisherman’s Mission.
