About Suicide Grief -Survivors of suicide represent “the largest mental health casualties related to suicide� (Edwin Shneidman, Ph.D., AAS Foundation President). -The loss of a loved one by suicide is often shocking, painful and unexpected. The grief that ensues can be intense, complex, and long term. Grief work is an extremely individual and unique processes; each person will experience it in their own way at their own pace.

Group in Hammond: **A safe place to share your experience and work through your grief**

Shock; Denial; Pain Guilt; Anger; Shame Despair; Disbelief; Hopelessness Stress; Sadness; Numbness Rejection; Loneliness; Abandonment Confusion; Self-blame; Anxiety Helplessness; Depression

-These feelings are normal reactions and the expression of them is a natural part of grieving. At first, and periodically during the following days/months of grieving, survivors may feel overwhelmed by their emotions. *Child and Teen groups only meet in Hammond*

-Hammond Group Meets 7-8:30pm the 3rd Thursday of every month *Children and Teen Groups available upon Request. Two week advanced notice required.

From Interstate 80/94 take Hammond Exit 2B to Indianapolis Boulevard heading North. Take Indianapolis Blvd. north to 169th Street. Go west (left) at 169th Street, past Southeastern Avenue. The Couple & Family Therapy Center is located at 1247 E. 169th Street, Hammond, Indiana in the Purdue University Calumet Entrepreneurship Center.
