The Morocco Country Portfolio Evaluation is
one of the last country-level evaluations of
the fifth GEF replenishment period. Morocco was
selected as it has a comparatively large, diverse
and mature portfolio with more than one third of
its national projects having reached completion.
The portfolio has an emphasis on climate change
– with major investments in renewable energy –
and biodiversity, and has significant co-financing
amounts. Furthermore, half of the national projects
are under implementation.
This evaluation was highly consultative and
participatory. Stakeholders were continuously
informed and solicited to provide data, information
and feedback all along the evaluation process
through various means. These included consultation workshops, individual and group interviews, and an online stakeholder consultation platform.
