NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS August 4, 2013 FLOWER DONATIONS There are several openings for flower donations in August. Dedication forms and signup sheets are on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION Please contact the preschool office for more information or questions about registering your child for the upcoming preschool year at 385-4422 or email@example.com. Brochures are on the welcome table in the narthex with more information. Enroll now! There are still a few spots available. MUSIC NOTES There are 21 chairs in the choir loft. Wouldn’t it be cool to see them all filled come September? Mark your calendars for August 22 and join us for a potluck dinner and rehearsal at Joanna’s house! More information to come or contact Joanna Dietz at the church! STAFF PARISH NOTES The Staff Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce that Jessica Summer has been hired as our new Preschool Director. We are grateful for her many talents and blessed that she will be sharing them with the staff, families, and children of our Preschool. She will begin transition work with Julaine Ricard during the month of August. Congratulations, Jessica!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED The Sunday fellowship gathering is in need of individuals, groups, or classes to provide snacks and prepare coffee and lemonade during August. The schedule is the same [9:00 AM Sunday school, 10:00 AM Fellowship, and 10:30 AM Worship]. If you are able to assist, please see the sign-up sheet in the Narthex. If you are seeking a way to volunteer at St. George’s but your schedule limits availability, consider the counting team! A commitment of about an hour after church, once a month, is all it takes. Those interested should contact Debi Salman at 703-424-3881 or LDSTOF8@cox.net. There is a need for Friday Office Angels over the next few weeks. Please check the website calendar for the latest information. If you have time in your schedule to assist in the office, please see the sign-up sheet in the Narthex or contact the office. The Sanctuary requires straightening once a week (on Thursdays or Fridays). It takes about 45 minutes and training takes about five minutes. It is a great opportunity for high school students seeking service hours. For more information, contact the office [firstname.lastname@example.org or 703.385.4550].
