GCS Weekly News Orientation Day

Term 1, Issue 20, 11-9-2011

Last Thursday we had a fun day of Orientation on campus. Returning families and friends were reunited and new families were able to get a feel for our school. Thank you to all the companies who participated, providing much needed information about services in the area.

Back to School Night On Monday, 12th September 2011 we will be having our annual Back to School night. Parents of PYP students can go directly to the child’s homeroom and MYP/DP parents can meet in the auditorium. Back to School is an opportunity for parents to meet their children’s teachers, if they haven’t already, and to find out what the daily routine is in the classroom.

School Lunches This year we are delighted to have Dante providing delicious and nutritious school lunches from our PYP cafeteria. Depending on demand they will in the future be sold from the MYP cafeteria as well. Sandwiches, wraps and baguettes are 20Aed.. including an apple or orange juice, while pastas and salads are 25Aed. also including a fresh juice. For the first 2 weeks of term you can buy them in cash each day, but we will be implementing a pre-order/prepaid system. Orders and payment will need to be made by Thursday each week and given to reception.

No Hat, No Play There were a number of children without hats today. Please note that we have a strict no hat, no play policy.

Arabic Department’s Letters for Parents: Travelling Home Parents, please make sure your children are aware each morning of how they will be getting home after school and reiterate to them how important it is to stick to the plan.
