Arabic department WEEKLY parents’ LETTER for NON-ARAB Dear Parents, As part of our continued commitment to further development of high quality provision for children learning Arabic and to maintain the high quality of teaching Arabic at GCS, we would like to share with you the information/topics that we plan to teach from October 30 to November 3, 2011. Note:1- We will send the Arabic department weekly letter every Thursday starting from the first week after Eid holiday. 2- We will send a specific weekly letter for PYP, and another one for MYP.

Grade KG1

Arabic B Topic:

We will cover the members of the family, Father, mother, sister, brother and learning the family song

KG2

Topic: Generations H.W We will cover the members of the family, Father, mother, sister, brother.

Gr.1

Topic: celebration H.W: To practice the Arabic song (‫عيد‬

Gr.2

Topic: Days of the week. H.W: Beg. To learn the days of the week song. Med (Sherif) a worksheet about the days of the week will be given to the students for more practicing.


Adv. (Ibrahim) To write one sentence for something you do on Saturday. Gr.3

Topic: Places. H.W: Beg.

(soumaya): practice to write the first letter of the words.

Med. Adv. (Ibrahim) To cut a picture for a hospital then stick it on a white paper and write one sentence describing it.

Gr.4

Topic: Transportation. H.W: Beg. (soumaya) To cut a picture for (Gamel ,Horse)then stick it on a white paper and write the first letter in Arabic . Med. (Ayham) a worksheet about the Transportation will be given to the students for more practicing. Adv. (Ibrahim) To write 2 sentences about 2 kinds of transportations.

Topic: In the library. H.W: Beg. (Ibrahim) To search on internet for the meanings of (pen-sharpener) in Arabic then write them and draw them. Med. (sherif) To search on internet for the meanings of (pens – books – notebooks) in Arabic then write them and draw them. Adv. (Ayham) a worksheet about the lesson will be given to the students for more practicing. Gr.6

Topic: .Who am I (the home’s parts). H.W:


Beg. (Jamal) Chart about the family, to study the letters through the

words of the members of family. Med: (Ayham) a worksheet about “the house parts” will be given to the students for more practicing. Adv: (wael) a worksheet about “My home’s parts” will be given to the students for more practicing Gr.7

Adv. (Jamal) . Group 1: Chart about the family, to study the few sentences through the words of the members of family. Group2: studying 3 pages from the story of (‫)الوطن‬, practicing reading the new words. Group3: Reading the story of (‫)الفتاة واللبن‬, and answer the activities after it. Gr.10

Topic:

(wael) Student will complete the Arabic alphabets & Learn about the members of the family, talking about each member. (Ahmed) Student will complete question words and simple sentence as a practicing on it & simple conversation about the school. H.W: Write five Arabic questions and its answers then translate them into English

Gr.11

Topic: Leisure (social interactions and traveling). H.W: Beg. ( Ayham) students will write a simple essay about “transportation &

traveling”, also a worksheet will be given to the students for more practicing. Adv. (Ayham) students will write an essay about “road accidents and

traffic safely rules”, also a worksheet will be given to the students for more practicing. Gr.12
