Certificate Courses - Prepare for National Certification Phlebotomy Technician Prepare for a career as a Phlebotomist in this 90-hour course. You will prepare for a national certification exam and learn how to collect blood specimens from patients and blood donors for laboratory analysis. In addition, participants will study infection control techniques and how to interact with others. Community Education Stop the Bleeding Trauma injuries come in all forms and from a variety of causes; from car accidents to gun shots to injuries caused by mechanical equipment. Regardless of the cause, trauma injuries are a leading cause of death in young people and the first 10 minutes is critical in providing life saving techniques until the ambulance arrives. Now you can learn what to do and be a part of a national movement to stop the bleeding. Why are courses canceled? We may cancel a course because we didnâ€™t know you planned to take it! Sometimes excellent courses with outstanding instructors are canceled when too many people wait until the last minute to register. Our courses have to be cost-recoverable and we need a minimum of students enrolled before a class will run. We have to cancel courses with low enrollment ahead of time, so sign up in advance to reserve your seat. When/If a class is canceled students will be notified in advance. Online classes and hybrid classes are non-refundable once access has been granted. Notification of Collection and use of Social Security Number: FL statute 119.071(5); GCSC collects SSNs for use in performance of the College’s duties and responsibilities for the following purposes: identification, verification, & creation of student records necessary for conducting the College’s business; billing & payments; data collection; tax reporting. Federal law requires that we protect SSNs from disclosure to unauthorized parties. Federal legislation related to Educational tax credits require that all postsecondary institutions report the SSN of all postsecondary students to the IRS. A student may refuse to disclose his/her SSN to the College, but refusing to comply with the federal requirement may result in fines established by the IRS.
