The 2011 Urban Suburban Film Festival is back and we thank you for all your support. “It’s all about the film”. It’s our time again. Time for filmmakers, lovers of good quality films and industry insiders to travel to the City of Philadelphia. The Urban Suburban Film Festival, the month of June and independent films are a perfect way to begin your summer fiesta. It is our goal to provide you with the best various of diverse film independent from filmmaker’s throughout the world.

Kitchen Table directed by Cara Hagan Categories: Documentary Run time 1 Hour 30 min. | USA Andy Meyers, the subject of the film, has decided he wants to end his life in front of a camera for the world to see; much like his idol Bud Dwyer. His depression and array of ailments from his bout with diabetes have driven him to the edge. Andy recruited his counselor turned filmmaker to document the suicide and also the events of his final days. The hired crew decides, at the last minute, they cannot be part of Andy's suicide but instead try to talk him out of it. The director is left with no crew and a confused Andy. Does the film go on? Jan is a visual artist who explores her experiences with grief through her work. Featured in this film is a sculpture made in essence of her husband Dan, who died of cancer four years prior to the making of this film, and the completion of his honorary sculpture. Through her art process, Jan recalls her time with Dan while he was alive, her struggles during his long illness and how her life has been changed after his death. In the end, Jan reveals how art can heal the soul and lift the spirit.

An improvised drama created in the shadow of the events on which it is based, 'After You Left' is a realistic and intimate exploration of love and loss, as well as a personal reflection of the moment in which it was made.

One night after a casual 'visit,' Angela is all but ready to leave Derek's apartment. Derek, however, is determined not to let her go without a fight. A drama about a common moment in a relationship, 'Close' explores the intense frustration that comes when the person you desire does not see things your way.
