Lazy JB Angus | 2026 Bull Sale

Page 1

FELLOW CATTLEMEN

The year 2026 marks a pivotal chapter for Lazy JB Angus, and we are honored to welcome you to our 25th Annual Bull Sale—a sale that began shortly after our move to Montrose, Colorado from our original home near Louisville. This year is especially meaningful, as it also marks 100 years since the Lazy JB brand was first established.

This offering is the direct result of generations of dedication to the cattle industry and, more specifically, to the Angus breed. However, none of these milestones would be possible without the support, loyalty, and friendship of cattlemen and women like you. Your trust in our program is something we never take for granted.

The cattle market in 2025 was historic, with record prices across much of the country and a long-awaited sense of reward for those committed to feeding America. Strong markets bring opportunity—but they also bring responsibility. Now more than ever, bull selection matters. Investing in sound, predictable, maternally driven genetics is critical to sustaining profitability when markets eventually cycle. We believe this year’s offering reflects that mindset: bulls built to add value, longevity, and consistency to your cow herd for years to come.

For Lazy JB Angus, 2025 was also a year of challenge, change, and new beginnings. Just one week following last year’s sale, we lost our beloved matriarch— mother and grandmother—Elaine Biella. Elaine, alongside Richard, represented the third generation of this ranch and played a central role in the move that ultimately led us to Montrose. Her absence is felt each and every day. Yet through grief, we have leaned heavily on our faith, trusting that God continues to guide our path and strengthen our purpose. With His direction, we remain fully committed to the continuation of Lazy JB Angus and the responsibility that legacy carries.

We take great pride in producing cattle that work across environments, balance phenotype with performance, and—most importantly—are profitable for our customers. This past summer, a young cattleman from Texas helping us remarked on the maternal strength of our cow herd, noting he had rarely seen females that were such exceptional mothers. That observation affirmed what we believe deeply: maternal power is heritable, and it is something we as cattle producers must never lose sight of. Strong cows build strong programs.

As many of you know, our program is driven by one priority—you, our customer. Our breeding decisions undergo constant evaluation and refinement, and you’ll see that reflected in the new bloodlines incorporated throughout this year’s offering. Selection into this sale is rigorous and intentional. You’ll find both proven, time-tested pedigrees alongside some of the newest and most exciting sires in the breed.

In addition to this year’s outstanding bull offering, we will also be selling 5 select registered Angus yearling females. This is a very intentional and limited offering, led off by an elite heifer who ranks in the top 1% of the breed for her PAP EPD—a true reflection of our long-standing commitment to highaltitude, environmentally adaptable genetics. These females represent the same maternal strength, structural integrity, and genetic predictability that define the Lazy JB program.

All bulls have been PAP tested, along with their dams and granddams. We have been PAP testing for over 30 years, long before it became commonplace, and we remain committed to offering cattle suited for high-altitude and diverse environments. We also recently returned home from the 120th National Western Stock Show, a tradition deeply rooted in our family since the early 1950s. This year’s event was especially rewarding, as we were honored to be named Champion Summer Calf Pen of Three Bulls. One of those bulls will be offered for sale this year, providing an opportunity to acquire genetics that have proven themselves on one of the industry’s most respected stages.

We are extremely proud of this set of bulls and invite you to inspect them anytime prior to sale day. Videos are available on our website at www.lazyjbangus. com as well as on DV Auction. We are always happy to visit with you, answer questions, and help match the right bull to your program, goals, and budget.

To our longtime customers and those joining us for the first time—thank you. Thank you for your friendship, your trust, and your continued business. We are truly blessed with incredible people, exceptional livestock, and the opportunity to do what we love each day. We give all the glory to God, trusting Him to guide our decisions and our future.

We look forward to welcoming you to the ranch on Sunday, March 8th, for our 25th Annual Bull Sale. Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions or to schedule a time to view the cattle prior to sale day.

The Creamers

The Creamer family of Colorado has strong and very significant ties to the seedstock business and the registered bull trade. It’s a family name that has become synonymous with quality, integrity, and reputation. A name tied strongly to success, longevity, and accomplishment within the industry and so it is with that, we welcome you to the 2026 edition of the Lazy JB Angus Annual Bull Sale.

This is a cowherd that has been built around a focus on the fundamentals and not forgiving or creating exceptions for flaws or issues with stock that aren’t built the way they should be to withstand the pressures of any environment or setting they are introduced to. The program’s balanced approach to physical quality and balanced numeric and economic validity cannot be denied and is known by anyone that has invested or studied the program.

The bulls sold through this marketing event a year ago were met with industry wide acceptance as indicated by their appraised values. Those that invested in the boys of 2025 are asking for more just like those offered a year ago. It is of our belief that the goods are certainly on the ‘Western Slope’ again this year but deeper in quality and larger in number. It is not a secret that this program has a very successful reputation in the showring, and that in the fall they market a very competitive lineup of females that are sourced by the most demanding families in the business. These are cattle that stand up to the strict selection pressure of those who single trait select for phenotype, even though these are cattle that have so much more to offer then what you will find on the hoof. The point is that this program is one of the very few that can generate the attractive, industry right ladies that fit nearly every scenario while the brother mates offer a significant amount of industry merit complimented by shape, substance, and scale.

The prolific cowherd that produced this offering is one to reckon with for any stockman. They represent three plus decades of culling and selection pressure placed on feet, fertility, udders, and kind. It is without question, one of the more dominant working cowherds in the breed as they impress nearly each set of eyes that hits them. Huge feet with heel depth, impeccable flexibility and skeletal integrity that is blended with the right pattern, body shape, and true beef dimension to survive the harsh environment that they thrive in. They are the kind that creates envy and admiration that generates desire to be like or better than.

This offering of phenotype and genomically impressive studs will not disappoint and per usual they are worthy of your time and fuel to view in person. If you have done business with the family in the past then you know why you return each year, but for those that have not tied to the Lazy JB prefix then your moment is on the 8th day of March to make that happen. This family would be one of the finest outfits in the industry with great vision, ambition, and execution. Please feel free to reach out to any of the Innovation AgMarketing team members if you should need assistance with your selections, and know that we look forward to hosting you along with the Creamer family in Montrose.
