This & That continued from page 3... Jo Ellen made it clear that it was Randy’s birthday and not hers! They sailed, snorkeled, went on a submarine and Randy went ziplining... John Broz journeyed to Hawaii to attend his brother-in-law’s wedding on the beach. He has also been to Honduras again and sold another house while there... Steve Bland just returned from a 10 day trip to Thailand to inline skate with friends. The Thai countryside- especially the waterfallswere beautiful, and the hospitality of his hosts and the Thai people was beyond imagine. Daily massages from the resort staff were the icing on the cake! Nancy Dodd and four friends went to Maui for 10 days and it sounds like they were busy every moment. They watched whales, went snorkeling and ziplining. She said they survived the road to Hana and that the rainforests were beautiful. They also went to Haleakala volcano and rode their bikes down. LAKE CONROE: Happy New Year from the agents and staff at Lake Conroe! Our office also wished a happy 60th birthday to Phyllis Baudat-Matthews! Here’s to many more happy years with us! LAKE HOUSTON: The holidays brought in much excitement. We hosted our annual Christmas Party at the office, Lisa Dempsey brought in tamales and made margarita pies for everyone to enjoy, and boy, oh boy they were delicious! We then had a very spirited gift exchange where in the end the calculating Kendra Lee went home with a beautiful piece of art that Nancy Johnson had stolen from Rosie Browning just moments earlier. Kendra also hosted a New Years Eve celebration in her home where she and Rebecca Ramirez, Debbie Stockwell, Leslie Free and Roy Davis along with other friends and family rang in the New Year. While we were here celebrating, many of our agents celebrated the New Year many miles away in Las Vegas- Lisa Dempsey and her husband, Jennifer Hunter and her family, and Tara Baker and her family all enjoyed their time in Sin City. Speaking of celebrations, after a whirlwind romance, we will be planning a wedding this summer for our office coordinator Samantha Mendez and her fiancé Christopher Bowers. We wish them many years of happiness and babies... The Lake Houston office gained national exposure on the Inman News website for our innovative bus ads and “thinking outside the box” marketing. Our rolling billboards feature individual agents and the office. It’s fun to see the buses around town with our very own neighborhood experts on the side... We want to thank Tamera Tapman for coming to our office and training our agents on the benefits of VA Loans for our clients. Over 15 of our agents earned preferred status with the Texas Veterans Land Board at the end of the class... We have also been working hard preparing for our Kings Harbor Concert Series Events that begins February 1st. At our first event we are holding a Souper Bowl of Caring Food drive with all proceeds benefiting the Houston Food Bank. We are looking forward to bringing the community together through music and fun. The concerts will be on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month until November 2013, talk about great exposure for BHGRE Gary Greene. The committees have all met and it looks like smooth sailing from here on out. We want to welcome our new part-time administrator Cari Gonzales to the office. We also have two new agents starting Fast Start, welcome Sheila Craniotis & Donna McDaniel. MEMORIAL: The Memorial Office family shared a wonderful Christmas dinner party at the home of Dave and Meg Beach. Though the party was not held on The Night Before Christmas, our bellies shook like bowls full of jelly after feasting on the sumptuous fare from Carrabba’s and desserts that added a pound or two to even the fittest agents in the room. As in Christmases past, boisterous merriment was the order of the evening when our “Chinese Gift Exchange” began. Nobody seems to know the origin of the not-so-politically-correct name, but one online source points the reader to the Chinese concept of destiny – since “participants believe their random gift was not random”. The exchange is always fun and everyone ends up with a nice and in some cases really funny gift. One gets to know

a lot about one’s coworkers as they scheme and maneuver over a $15 singing stuffed reindeer! The evening was a great success, and some happy revelers went home with door prizes courtesy of Randall Benzel of Gibraltar Insurance Services. Lucky winners of these wonderful surprises were Meg Beach, Gay Donehoo, Vicki Irwin, and Lynette Lew... Jean Risha was recently featured in the Houston Chronicle’s Real Estate SOUND OFF column. Jean offered advice on how buyers should deal with multiple offer situations. Simple and straightforward words that exemplified the qualities that make Jean such a valuable asset to her clients and to our office in her position as Career Development Manager. Jean posts a series of quotes on her office window that offer a bit of business and personal inspiration to everyone who walks by her office... inspiring agents even when she’s not in the office! Tina Vernon recently completed Fast Start, and is off and running with her real estate business... Our newest agent, Charles Ng, is both a licensed attorney and a successful photographer – definitely someone who will provide excellent service to his clients. Charles knows the marketing value of good photography in this world of online-searches, and has offered his expertise and experience to agents in our office. Connie Wong has been all smiles over the success of her gymnast daughter, Paige. She made it to the Texas State Championship Meet held at The Woodlands Gymnastic Academy on December 8-9th. Only the top twenty best gymnasts in Texas compete in this Meet. Paige placed first on the Beam – scoring 9.875 – and placed third in the All-Around. Proud mama Connie tells us that it is quite an accomplishment to make it to the state meet, and placing third among all the gymnasts in the state was an awesome accomplishment for Paige. Paige’s workout routine at the gym totals 14 hours each week as she prepares for many competitions held throughout the year. Watch out, Jonathan Horton! We have a new member of the Gary Greene family following in your footsteps! Juka Smits ran the soggy Houston Marathon in January, and thought it was a perfect day for a marathon. A little rain never hurts a dedicated runner, and the cold weather certainly beat running the distance in Houston in August. Congratulations to Juka for adding another notch to her marathon belt... Our office’s birthday celebrants were treated to a lively lunch at the newly-remodeled Escalante’s. Karen Parker, Bob Duerer, Joni Woods, William Cheek, Bruce Inman, Cindy Lyons, Juka Smits, and Bet Jennings joined Andrew Boyd – and turned the tables on their host when they wished HIM birthday greetings. Joni was the center of attention a few nights earlier when she was feted at a surprise birthday party hosted by her three daughters. She was celebrating a big one....but we’ll keep you guessing about which one! The Memorial Office family joined with our friends at the Cy-Fair office in mourning the death of Shirley Williams’ husband, Rick. Rick passed away after fighting a valiant fight against cancer, and we bid him farewell by helping Shirley and the family celebrate his life after his memorial service. We all enjoyed seeing photos of their fantastic 32 years together – laughing as we chronicled their history through hairdo after hairdo. Rick and Shirley for years hosted a wonderful party at “the icehouse” – his pool company’s office – that was always a highlight of the summer for our family. He will be missed, and our prayers and thoughts are with Shirley and their family. We also said good-bye to Sam Nguyen’s sister, Snow Le, who died unexpectedly and much too early in life soon after suffering a stroke. Many of us attended our first Buddhist funeral service, and we were all fascinated by the beautiful traditions and by the warmth of the large extended Nguyen family. We hold them in our hearts and thank them for the opportunity to be part of the service. WOODLANDS & MAGNOLIA: We would like to welcome our new agents, John & Carol Beavers, Bethany Lainhart and Kristy Corey... Kristie Houston and Niki Davis will be in an upcoming episode of HGTV’s House Hunters. It is scheduled to air February 12th at 9pm... Naomi Kern’s babies Princess Zori and Lady were at the Barkus & Meoux Mardi Gras Parade 2012 in Galveston. She turned their Radio Flyer wagon into their float and had a mini wagon attached, with stuffed animals decked out for the parade. They won Honorable Mention for costume contest… way to go girls! Rebekah Snipp ran the Aramco Houston half marathon on 1/13/13- she did 13.1 miles in 2:34 time to help Raise funds for Project Search Homeless Group.. With the convention coming quick the Realtors here are getting a little stir crazy! Things have lined up for them with the convention in Las Vegas ON Super Bowl weekend... Learning mixed with fun!! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

BAY AREA: Kelly Paul’s granddog Chunk would like to congratulate everyone on a successful 2012 and hopes for a successful 2013! Around St. Paddy’s day he joined in our celebration with a big smile and a wearing of the green! Our Sunshine Kids Benefit on April 20 was called Twist’N’Shout for The Sunshine Kids. It was our best Sunshine Kids party ever, and we hope you were able to join us! In other family news, Jennifer Klein’s son Daven, a Senior at Dickinson High, has signed with Texas Lutheran to play defensive line in the Fall. He was honored to be named captain at Dickinson, and was awarded Unanimous First Team All District Offensive Lineman, as well as First Team All County Offensive Lineman and Dickinson High School MVP. Wow! That’s a big achievement, Daven! We know your parents are proud of you... Patricia Richard is also talking about her son Nicholas, who has been accepted to Texas A&M College of the Sciences as a Physics Major. He plays trumpet in the Wind Ensemble, has been on Student Council and volunteers for charity events including the Ronald McDonald House. Patricia recruits him to assist with her Open Houses too. Best wishes to Nicholas on his college career... Ginger Pampolina’s son Damon performed as the opening act for Stevie Nicks this March in Las Vegas. His band sings and dances during their show. Damon also works with his dad Phil in their business as Emcee/ DJ/entertainers... One of our newer agents, Rickey Trant, is engaged to Michelle McCleary, who has just joined our Bay Area office. Welcome Michelle! The couple has a wedding planned for later this year. Ask Michelle about her thrilling proposal at Disneyland... Laureen Marrow had some cruise excitement, but not the kind that has been in the news recently. She says “We went on a seven day cruise to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, left the ship, then cruised on into the emergency room at Christus St. John for some gall bladder removal surgery... a good time was had by all!” Well, at least she kept her sense of humor. CHAMPIONS: We were honored with the company’s Top Office award again this year- we were surprised and humbled, since all the offices are doing so well and the competition is fierce! And of course, we are so proud of Earl Trammell who won Top Rookie. One thing about Earl that everyone notices is his hard work. He is also skilled in what lots of agents avoid… the short sale. I guess they say if you do something no one else will, you can make money and certainly Earl proves that’s true... Neil Noffsinger and his wife Gail visited their son in Monterey, California where he is the Executive Sous Chef at Restaurant 1833. In a week featuring excellent cuisine, they also spent several days in the wine country where they toured several wineries and spent a day on the Sonoma Valley wine trolley. After visiting the small towns of Pismo Beach, Solvang and Paso Robles, they toured the Hearst Castle in San Simeon before concluding the trip with an amazing dinner at their son’s restaurant and then spent their final day in San Francisco... Kristy Belcher’s husband, Greg, just joined our office and is going to team up with her. He has an extensive real estate background in new homes and commercial sales. They will surely be a dynamic duo... We love to party. Our Gibraltar affiliates threw a Spring Fling party on the patio with music, food and of course, drinks! Thank you, Gibraltars, for all you do for our office... Vanessa Muse and family were lucky enough to spend Spring Break skiing. They drove to Colorado so had plenty of family time in the car, and we all know how special that can be... Wendy Roloff says “My whole life focuses on work…” Sound familiar? But she took time off and went to California to celebrate her mother’s 86th birthday. A good reason to miss the Annual Awards meeting, but Wendy had a 4 million dollar February, so we know it was a working vacation. That sounds familiar too... Cindy Whiteside and her family took spent Spring Break in the woods of Palestine hunting javelina hogs, fishing, cooking lots of great meals and enjoying being together with family and friends. Her son Nick is about to graduate from Texas A&M, so lots of ammo was shot and many good memories were made before Nick starts his

new job after graduation. The pollen count was high and the javelina kill rate was low but everybody enjoyed themselves. CY-FAIR & WALLER: Mary Anne Szymanski’s ten-year-old grandson Clayton won Fifth Place in the Junior Market Broiler Competition at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. His win for 5th place was out of 275 pens. He is pictured at right with his brother Dalton on the left and friend Dakota... If you are flying low around the Queenston area, be on the look out for a green Cadillac. A duck was killed last week while flying low on Queenston. It flew across the path of the oncoming Caddy belonging to Dean Howell. The car unfortunately hit the duck, sending him to the big duck pond in the sky, and we gave Dean a hard time about it... Mila Tikal’s daughter was in the country visiting last month from her home in Europe, so Mila flew to San Francisco to visit with her and her husband for a weekend. All had a wonderful time and reunion... Sadly, Debby Brown’s father passed in March. She shared her thoughts with us- “Gary Greene Family, Thank you so very much for the lovely plant and Masses for my father, you all are the best. Thank you all for being there when I needed you and you know I really appreciate everything you do for me every day.” In happier news, Debby’s son and his family moved to Houston from New Orleans last month. She’s quite excited for the chance to get to know her new granddaughter, and spending more time with her son... This was a February event, but too sweet to not post late: Jennifer Locklin of the Amy Lippincott Team had a sweet surprise on Valentine’s. Her hubby’s quartet came to the office to serenade her, bringing sweets and flowers. It was a treat for all who were in the office and so cute to see Valentine love in bloom... To say Pinky McLaughlin is tickled pink might be a play on her name, but in truth it describes the thrill she feels for her grandson Owen. Owen is a high school junior in Colorado Springs, who shined at a mock UN Debate in Iceland. This was the first U.S. debate team to be invited to Iceland, and Owen was a leader at the debate. He had a wonderful time participating in the debate. One of the highlights was meeting the president of Iceland, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson. He described the president as charismatic, gentle and wise on many topics. Pinky and grandfather Harry love spending time with their two grandsons and welcome them every summer for two weeks. FORT BEND: We are more than a quarter into 2013 and the year is turning into a big green machine! Our Kick Off Breakfast got us off to a booming start at Riverbend Country Club. Manager Nikki Owen greeted us and provided some fabulous music that had everyone tapping their heels. The whole program was full of energy and came alive when Nikki announced that Moira Holden was number one in our entire company! Whooped it up, we did, and Moira was delightful with her acceptance speech that highlighted each and every staff member via a designated candy bar! Leesa Lawrence, Beth Murany, and Diana Doyle were designated as the “Three Musketeers.” Moira delighted the overflowing room with quips and moving moments! Green accessories were available and Kim Burns, Val Howell, and Barbara Marlin put on their greenery! It was a stellar morning and congratulations to all for a record breaking year in Fort Bend. How can we follow up such a spectular event... by being cast in a reality show! Michelle Posey was chosen from a national casting call for BHGRE’s “Home First Home.” She was be working with a film crew from New York who followed her and her clients around
