2 3
First, we focus on students learning well and mastering core academic subjects that are essential for future achievement and success.
Equally important, we believe instruction in spiritual and character development is integral in providing a firm foundation for life.
Finally, the school positively interacts with the student’s family & community to bring about lasting change.

A LETTER FROM
THE BOARD PRESIDENT
Dear Donors, Friends, Volunteers and Community Partners: When Gardere Community Christian School (“GCCS”) was founded slightly more than three years ago, it was our vision to serve God in building a Christian elementary school in the Gardere community. On August 23, 2013, the vision of GCCS became a reality, as the school embarked on its third school year of serving the Gardere community—but for the first time—with a schoolhouse in the Gardere neighborhood. Over the last year many blessings have truly been bestowed upon us and the GCCS children, none of which would have been possible without the Lord’s guidance, your generosity and countless volunteer hours to renovate the building that GCCS now calls home. The relocation into Gardere has served as a rebirth for both GCCS and the community, as the school has brought light into the community and the community has provided a spark for our administrators, educators and students. While the permanent relocation of GCCS was the cornerstone of our year and future, it was not the only notable event to happen over the last twelve months. We continued to expand GCCS by adding a sixth grade class and educator to the school. We also added several new educators, administrators and staff that will enable us to better serve the students and our Heavenly Father in accomplishing the mission of GCCS.
Fulfilling the initial vision of GCCS is just the beginning, as we know that God continues to have great plans for us and the community that GCCS serves. In the near future, we anticipate continuing renovations, with an eye on physical expansion; the addition of a seventh and eighth grade and a preschool; and further increases in the student population. With the grace of God and your continued support and generosity, we look forward to continuing the mission of GCCS to provide a firm Christian foundation in the educational and spiritual life of children in the Gardere neighborhood, thereby enabling our students to grow into strong and responsible Christian men and women. In the year that I have been fortunate to serve on the Board of Directors of GCCS, I have been blessed with many new friends and seeing the Lord work in many ways in making the vision of GCCS a reality. On behalf of the Board of Directors, we thank you for your support and generosity and look forward to another year of blessings on GCCS and Gardere. With love, gratitude and much appreciation,
Michael T. Durham PRESIDENT PAGE 7
