FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT 2016 has been a wonderful year of growth for Garden City Arts! Each January, the board set goals that we work toward all year. This year our goals were to: - Re-energize our annual fundraiser event - Partner with another board on an event, - Become more financially stable - Increase community involvement through developing outreach programs - Grow the board to its full capacity We are happy to report that we reached our goals this year! We brought back our event fundraiser in a big way the form of Speakeasy, a roaring 20s themed evening that celebrated the arts. We partnered with Sandhills to create beautiful art for the Speakeasy, and we are planning to bring back Art in the Park with them next year. Our financial situation is better than ever, and we always welcome you to view our financial documents. Despite starting the year with a small but dedicated board, and with several members sadly moving away during the year, we are ending 2016 with a nearly full board of people who are dedicated to supporting and growing the arts in our community. We appreciate all of our patrons and members immensely, and without your support it would be impossible for us to continue. I started as a volunteer here because I love the mission of enriching the community through the arts. I could not be more proud to serve as the president of this board.
