The Sunday Sundae Closing Party signals for most of us the end of the summer. We move away from sunshine and terraces to a more underground way of clubbing. The house music makes a progression to a deeper level but with the success of recent electro hits, Brighton is lovin’ it dirty! We can see this with the afterhours Rebel turning from post-Fruit-event to a legendary party in itself. It returns at the fabulous Digital on the 8th October, anyone who sampled Suck It ‘n’ See last month will tell you that the soundsystem of this newly dec’d up club will blow you away! But though the prospect of long winter months can make anyone glum, we love the twisted glamour of sunglasses at 6am, but winter’s not a bad thing. Our town always has something exciting happening. Apart from a multitude of successful weekly club institutions, including Thursday’s Boogaloo @Audio and Religion @Charles St, October sees a load of special events, launches and birthdays... It’s the annual Miss TG Brighton is @The Old Ship Hotel on Tuesday 2nd. If you like to camp it up, Cabin Fever @Revenge are hosting cheap drink ‘Krush Bars’ to the theme of Beyonce on Wednesday 10th and Girls Aloud on Wednesday 24th, and on Saturday 6th the unique and fabulous experience that is Bliss showcase Madison performing live @Charles St. If you like your house music upfront Kinky Dangerous are celebrating their 2nd birthday with a permanent 2-floor takeover @Revenge,
also on the 6th. The next day (!) birthday celebrations continue with Wild Fruit’s whopping 15th Pirate Party with superstar DJ’s The Freemasons on the decks. The Candy Bar always offers something different, with a Drag King Night on the 7th, including a live performance from Sexy Galexy & the Technicolour Drag Kings! Bring It On, the original open decks night relaunches on the 10th with hundreds of records awaiting your DJ ambitions. It’d be rude not to reward the efforts of these clubs by attending really, there’s also a completely new indierockpop night to check out, Animal Nitrate @Revenge on Sunday 14th.
