Chapter News The spring semester started of great. We got back onto campus and were ready for spring rush. We had great speakers at dinners and had a strong showing at rush events. We ended with 12 spring pledges. The number may seem low but it actually is a fairly large spring class considering recent spring pledge classes have been around 6-7 pledges. We recruited some great, strong and intelligent rushees. Compared to other fraternities on campus we did great! We didn’t sacrifice any bid for shear numbers!

A lot of changes have happended in the month of January. We elected multiple new officers and are continuing to have elections in chapter. We have a new social chair, Dan Topiol, a new alumni chair, Christian Lane, and a newly founded alumni committee along with various other positions. The alumni committee is comprised of one member from each pledge class to ensure the longevity of the new alumni out reach program. The alumni committee will be sending out emails through out the semester so make sure to check for updates! Sigma Chi has a program called Choices. This semester the chapter will bring in someone from that program and at least 90% of the chapter will go through this program. The program highlights drug and alcohol awareness and choices we should be making as gentleman of Sigma Chi.
Upcoming Events Sorority philanthropies are around the corner! Team tryouts for various sport-based philanthropies are currently going on. This semester we are going to entering each and every sorority’s philanthropy. Our goal is to win as many as we can! In addition we are expanding our outreach to participate in other philanthropic events around campus.

content to the website. We are currently trying to improve it to use it as another means of communication with our alumni as well as a database for every Gamma Theta to use. Derby Days is approaching rather quickly! We are back at it again trying to out do the previous year! This year Derby Days is on the weekend of April 16. We would love any donations or items anyone may have to offer for our silent auction. Please contact our Derby Days Chair Mark Killebrew at email@example.com. Bro Pros Name: Walker Hancock Hometown: Paris, Kentucky Major: Animal Sciences- Equine Minor: Agricultural Business Management GPA: 3.3 Involvement/Leadership: Magister, Football manager, House Manager, Family Weekend Chair “As of right now, I am a senior planning to graduate in May. This year, I’ve moved into the house and loved every minute of it. My biggest regret is not moving in before. I’m really going to miss this place and moving in has made me appreciate Sigma Chi even more. Upon graduation, I plan on moving back to Kentucky and pursuing my dream of winning a Kentucky derby. We have a thoroughbred horse farm that has been in my family for four generations and I plan to take over the reins from my dad and continuing successful management of the farm.”

Name: Brooks Allen Hometown: Tampa, FL Major: Telecom Production GPA: 3.46 Involvement/Leadership: Game day Chair, Assistant House Manager, Chapter Historian, Magister, Media Chairman “When I graduate, I plan on getting a job in the Tampa Bay area working for one of the few major television stations. I hope to work my way up and become the head producer of a major broadcast/primetime television program. Living in house is an experience. Before I moved in house, I can honestly say I was a different person. When I moved into the house, it kind of sucked me in and I slowly changed. I put a lot of money and time into my room to make it a truly memorable experience to be in.” -Brooks Allen
