OKAY, SO WHAT’S IT ABOUT? After 19-year-old Aya Velasquez died mysteriously in Harding Park, no one seemed to care. At least not until a preteen medium accidentally summoned Aya herself to solve the mystery. With no memory of her death and no shortage of questions, Aya must make friends with her fellow ghosts and discover the truth behind the haunted park she’s trapped in. Based on EVP audio recorded by M.A.A.G. (Mothers Against Aliens and Ghosts), Overkill is a comedy podcast, murder mystery, and a love story all wrapped in one vaguely supernatural package.

AND WHO’S MAKING IT? A group of absurdly enthusiastic artists who aim to create to create diverse, characterdriven content across digital platforms. Gal Pals Present is an online art collective created by Lia Hagen, and we work every day to make the Internet a little more magical. For more info, visit galpalspresent.com

WHAT DID I MISS IN SEASON ONE?

AND WHAT’S COMING IN SEASON TWO?

Well, first of all, please listen to season one! But if you, like me, have lots of podcasts to listen to and little time, here’s a (spoiler-y) summary. In season one, Aya discovered that the deeply haunted Harding Park is actually ruled by a weird Mist demon. Meanwhile, Madison the preteen medium spent the entire season terrified of her own potential. But as it turns out, Aya has the same powers that Madison and the Mist Lady have, and she used those powers to save Madison from the fucked-up fratboy sacrificing magic girls.

Season two sends our ghostly protagonist Aya on a mission to understand the power that’s keeping her kind-of-alive. In the meantime, Long Island’s own preteen medium, Madison, decides it’s time to learn to harness her powers. It’s basically a mix of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and the movie Ghost (except without the sexy sculpting scene because one of our protagonists is thirteen and that would be super weird). Over the course of the season, you can expect to hear innovative storylines about magic, (super gay) love, and mortality. In the season two premiere, Aya goes on a hunt for a cryptid that’s taken up residence in Harding Park, while Madison struggles with the existence of magic in her everyday world.
