C R Y S TA L N E U B A U E R Crystal Neubauer creates collages with relics from the past: salvaged book covers and old-time typefaces; scraps of fabric and scrawled notes. For her, the process of amassing and arranging these discarded items is meditative and healing, as she captures the “beauty in the mundane,” to use her words. Through this process, Neubauer’s pieces acquire an antique yet timeless look. Neubauer has shown in galleries around Illinois, Pennsylvania, Washington, and California. She teaches workshops on encaustic and collage media around the country. Currently she is based in Gages Lake, Illinois.

ALAN CORKERY HAHN Books are Alan Corkery Hahn’s medium. He stitches clever doodles onto repurposed book covers and pages. These images range in subject from everyday objects to abstract designs, and vary in tone from humorous and whimsical to thoughtful and serious. Hahn received his Master of Fine Arts at the University of Washington. He has shown his work at exhibitions in Washington, California, and South Korea. His work has garnered awards including the Jacob Lawrence Gallery Juror’s Award and the Taylor Gallery Dean’s Award. He recently published a book of his work that includes over fifty color illustrations. Hahn currently resides in Seattle.
