Hence, a temperature of 68 degrees is considered idea for both. This controls thermal expansion and the areas touching them. After each use, the gage should be cleaned using a lubricant and a fresh coating of thin layer of rust prevention should be added. An alternative is to dip the gage in an oil based wax coatings. Also, the gage inventory check can be made using visual means for dents, Nick's, scratches, etc. During and pre the actual use of the instrument, the recalibration dates should be checked and reconfirmed to ensure that it is updated soon. For this regular maintenance and inspection of the instrument is necessary to give the right results.
