The GA Cable Marketing Summit 

Panelists Aaron Geisel, Regional Director of Marketing for the South Region of Charter’s

operation, is a seasoned sales & marketing executive with over 24 years of experience in consumer marketing, branding, and planning and analysis. He is a proven leader managing diverse teams of operational, marketing and sales groups. Aaron began his career with Triax Cable in Northwest Ohio as a sales representative and quickly progressed through the ranks into leadership roles throughout the Midwest operations for Triax. After leaving Triax, Aaron joined Adelphia’s New England operation as a Regional Marketing Manager until he was recruited to join Comcast’s Northern New Jersey area as the Director of Acquisition and New Product Development in 2002. Aaron was promoted to Senior Director of Marketing in New Jersey before accepting the Vice President of Marketing Operations of Comcast’s Indiana Region in 2007. In 2009 Aaron joined Charter as the Director of Sales & Marketing for its Central States systems where he played a key role in improving the performance of that area. Aaron is an active member of his community, where he coaches his daughters’ basketball team, and his son’s football team. He served on the Board of Directors for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is active in several other charitable and church organizations.

Bob Nocera is Director of Product Marketing, New Video Services for Cox Com-

munications Inc. He is responsible for product marketing of video services including online and mobile video, DVR , interactive apps and the new Contour brand. While at Cox, Bob has supported the successful launch of several new products including Free On Demand, Whole Home DVR and most recently, Contour. He joined Cox in 2004. Prior to joining Cox, he spent the majority of his career in the consumer electronics industry, having held sales and marketing roles with Panasonic, NEC and Philips. Mr. Nocera is a graduate of the University of Florida and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.

Chris Killebrew is a 25 year veteran of the cable television industry, having

spent time launching and marketing networks for Home Box Office, Turner Broadcasting and Fox Networks. He currently oversees distribution for 31 Fox networks and 19 Fox broadcast stations throughout the Southeast and Western United States, as well as the Caribbean.

Panelists Dara Leslie is currently a Senior Director of Marketing for Comcast’s Central

Division. In this role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing across all products, including digital video, high speed internet, digital telephone and home security services. A 17 year veteran of the cable industry, Dara has held various marketing and operational leadership positions for Charter Communications and Atlantic Broadband. Prior to her current role at Comcast, she was Vice President of Operations for the Eastern Shore Properties for Atlantic Broadband. Dara has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Master of Arts from Old Dominion University.

James Rollins serves as Director, Digital Video Distribution for the Affiliate Sales

and Marketing department at Disney and ESPN Media Networks. In this role, James identifies and cultivates new technology opportunities with cable affiliates and drives the distribution of digital products and services on behalf of Disney and ESPN. This includes Video On-Demand, broadband services like ESPN3, and the latest TV Everywhere products from the Disney and ABC Television Group and ESPN: WATCH ABC, WatchESPN and the WATCH Disney suite. James has held various roles at Disney and ESPN Media Networks. As a Senior Account Manager, Digital Video Distribution; he project managed the launch of WatchESPN to over 40M U.S. cable households. And as Account Executive, Field Sales; James was instrumental in the distribution of networks including ESPNU. Prior to his work at Disney and ESPN Media Networks, James was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy where he earned military decorations including two Navy Achievement Medals and a Meritorious Unit Commendation. James holds an MBA from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Tech. He is a graduate of the Navy Officer Candidate School and the Navy Supply Corps School.

Jim Kolcun is the Director Of Technical Operations Comcast Cable Communi-

cations. He is a 20-year veteran of the Broadband Industry. Jim has spent time in the Technical Operations as well as Learning and Development departments at various levels and capacity. Jim has a NCTI Master Technician certification and received a Broadband Technical Management Certification from Arapahoe College. He currently serves as a board member of the Penn Ohio chapter of SCTE.

Panelists Jim Weigert has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, product

management and product development in a variety of industries, with nearly 20 years specifically in the telecommunications industry. Weigert currently is the Vice President/General Manager for Comcast Chattanooga responsible for the local marketing and public relations for the Chattanooga market, one of Comcast’s most competitive market places. In addition, Jim manages communication of product launches for Comcast’s Big South Region, covering markets in TN, GA, AL, MS, LA and SC. Previously, Weigert was vice president, marketing and product development for FairPoint Communications, Inc., one of the largest local exchange companies in the United States operating across 18 states. In his role, he was responsible for developing and implementing marketing and product strategy to drive revenue growth, positive business performance and improve the overall customer experience. Prior to FairPoint, Weigert worked in several marketing and sales leadership roles in the wireless, landline and cable industries for such companies as Ameritech, AT&T and Comcast, leading product and market launches as well as overall marketing and management. Weigert is a graduate of the Purdue University from which he earned a bachelor’s degree and the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University from which he earned a masters in business administration degree.

Kerry McKelvey is Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Comcast’s Big

South Region. Kerry provides strategic guidance and direction for marketing initiatives to help the Big South Region achieve customer growth goals across all product lines. He leads all marketing and sales for the region. Kerry brings more than 25 years of marketing experience with Comcast, MCI/SkyTel, Sprint, and Coopers & Lybrand. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Kansas.

Lynn Murphey was selected to serve as the executive field director for Middle

Georgia in January 2013 after a 16 year Cox career in Public and Government Affairs. In this new role, Lynn oversees Middle Georgia’s operations and works with area leaders to identify process improvements and implement solutions to help move our business forward. She also ably serves as the voice of our Middle GA employees, our customers, key community leaders and the communities we serve. In her previous role, Lynn served as the vice president of Public Affairs for the Florida/Georgia region. In this position, she built a highly-performing team and introduced a variety of Middle Georgia’s best practices to the Southeast region. Lynn has also championed Middle Georgia’s Connect 2 Compete (C2C) pilot. The Middle Georgia market is a nationally recognized C2C success! Lynn has deep ties to the Middle Georgia community. She is a graduate of Mercer University and an active supporter of the community she serves. She is a United States Air Force Community Liaison for Robins Air Force Base, a US Senator Saxby Chambliss nominee to Senate Leadership Summit for Young Professionals, a graduate of Leadership Georgia and a Governor Sonny Perdue appointee to the Georgia Commission on Women. Lynn has been recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as a “40 Under 40” Leader and she was a member of Macon Magazine’s inaugural “5 Under 40” class. She is actively involved with the Rotary Club of Macon, the Knight Foundation, the Georgia Cable Association, and various other community and civic organizations.

Panelists Mark Adams is the Director of Video Product Management at Charter.

In late 2012 Mark joined Charter’s Video Product team after nearly nine years serving in various roles within Charter’s marketing organization. Current responsibilities revolve around linear content, including recommendations for strategy, field approvals, and the roll-out of corporate projects. Prior to joining Charter in 2003, Adams was the internet product manager for Knology where he worked from 1997 managing residential and commercial subscriber performance, product and pricing strategy, as well as web application development, internet subscriber services and interactive television development/applications. Active with the Georgia Cable Association, Mark previously served as President of CTAM Southeast. He is based in Atlanta, GA.

Mark Watkins is Director of Marketing for Cox Communications, Southeast

Region. Mark has been in the cable industry for over 15 years, 7 with Cox. He joined Cox Communications in 2006 as Director of Sales & Marketing in Macon, GA heading up all marketing and sales activities for that system. During that time Mark led Macon to 2 President’s Cup awards for company leading inbound sales excellence in 2007 and 2009. He also led the Macon system to top companywide bundled product growth in 2007. In 2012 he became the Director of Marketing for the Southeast Region responsible for product marketing and management for the GA, FL and LA. He currently holds this position and is based out of Cox Communications Macon, GA location. Mark joined Cox after 8 years with Charter Communications leaving there as Director of Sales & Marketing for the state of Georgia, where he was responsible for over 10 sales channels generating approximately 20,000 new product connections per month. Previous to this position he held various positions in marketing as a manager and coordinator for the Charter systems across the state of Georgia. Mark received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Radford University in 1997. He is currently a member of CTAM National.

Phil Skinner is the Senior Director of Operations at Mediacom Communications and is responsible for the Columbus and Albany areas. Phil has more than 15 years of operational experience in the telecommunications industry and eight years of experience working for the largest performing rights organization in the U.S., the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Phil earned a Bachelors degree in Communications at Austin Peay State University. He now resides in Newnan, GA.

Panelists Stephen Loftin has led the Georgia Cable Association (GCA) as its Executive

Director since October 2008. In that role, he has led the group in changing its role from a traditional trade association to an advocacy-based organization that serves as the voice for the cable industry on state and federal policies that impact the cable industry’s ability to compete and serve their customers. Loftin has nineteen years of experience in government and policy. Prior to being named GCA’s Executive Director, Loftin served as the Executive Director of the Regional Business Coalition of Metro Atlanta for 4 years. The group, comprised of 15 chambers from the region, advocates for policy solutions that improve metro Atlanta’s quality of life and economic vitality. Successes during that time include passing the nation’s first Telework Tax Credit to help businesses start telework programs as a commute alternative and passing legislation to give the DOT more flexibility in their funding formula. Loftin currently serves on the board of the Georgia Ballet and vice president of the Walton Raiders Touchdown Club. Loftin has served on the Georgia Chamber of Commerce board of directors, The Civic League board of directors and on the Cobb Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Club. Originally from Savannah, Loftin is a 1994 graduate of the University of Georgia. He and his wife Dawn live in Cobb County with their three children.

Weldon A. Feightner is Vice President and General Manager for Charter

Communication. He is responsible for the Georgia and Alabama Key Market Areas. He joined Charter in November of 2012. He has been engaged in the Broadband Industry for over 34 years. Prior to his tenure with Charter, Weldon was the Regional VP of Knology, Inc. a leading provider of cable television, internet and telephone services throughout the Southern United States and beyond. He was responsible for the Company’s systems in Sioux Falls and Rapid City, South Dakota; Columbus Georgia, Montgomery Alabama; and Panama City , Florida. His management career with Knology spanned more than fourteen years. In addition , Weldon was Regional Manager with FrontierVision, a broadband communications cable company, responsible for operations in Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky. He has also worked in Cincinnati as General Manager for United Video Cable Company and as Technical Operations Manager for Time Warner.

About the Georgia Cable Association The voice of the cable industry in Georgia! Founded in 1968 in Dublin, GA, GCA represents the cable industry to policymakers at the state and federal level. We also serve as a resource for cable companies and their employees. The Association has 10 members that serve approximately 1.5 million households in Georgia. AMP was revamped in the beginning of 2012. When the CTAM SE chapter disbanded, we joined forces with the old CTAM board to create the new and improved Associate Member Program (AMP). GCA wants to help make you successful. As quickly as things have been changing lately, it’s more important than ever to have a source that is in contact with the MSOs on a daily basis like we are. Our goal is to serve as an education and networking platform that encourages the development of relationships between operators, programmers and vendors. Throughout the year, GCA hosts a series of networking events and marketing summits. These events give MSOs, programmers and vendors a chance to connect, build relationships and inform attendees on the latest innovations and developments in the cable industry.
