THE AREA We have designed a map that outlines main points of the Whale Walk. These points include where the Whale Walk starts and finishes, where you can view the whales, various beaches and the lighthouse. With these points visitors will be able to gain a visual perspective on distance and also direction on how to get to their destination. The larger map will help visitors understand where in Sydney the Whale Walk is located, which will help determine what type of transport they can use to get to the area.

AUDIEN CE The target audience is primarily young tourists, between the age of 18 and 30 years. Nevertheless, the walk is also very suitable for older generations, since it’s not too long and the path is very easy to follow. Locals can also enjoy it for a morning jog, a spot to read, an escape from the busy city life or maybe they are whale enthusiatis. The Whale Walk is a realaxing and beautiful area that tourists and locals can come an enjoy the serenity.

AIM The aim is to evolve this area by creating a strong brand around the beauty of this area.. By designing signage and whale watching elements (like binoculars) we will be able to really capture the experience when visitors come to this area. By incorporating useful tools and information on the area we are creating a more attractive place to come and visit. Not only will visiotrs be amazed by the visual elements but the feel of the Whale Walk as they explore various points of the walk as well as the community this area has created.

LOGO The logo was design is to potray a soft and gentle meaning. The soft lines and unfinished whale creates a sense of being hand drawn. By doing this we hope to commuicate a more authentic design. By designing a whale we are hoping this will communicate to visitors that the main attraction to this area is whales. The use of the point that comes down underneath the type is designed to signify a path on which people walk.

LOGO USAGE The logo is to be used primarity on whaite backgrounds of with a blue watercolour spash on the background. On merchandise or branding the logo can be used without text and just have the whale stamp. The logo must never be used on bright and colourful images, only images that have a darker contrast. The logo is also used within all our branding for things such as livery, booklets, signage and advertising. The shape of the whale is enlarged, replicated and angled in avrious ways to create patterned designs. By doing this we have created a brand that is consistent throughout and can be easily used for various branding deliveries.
