Coalition to Reduce Spending Portal Membership Portal UI Design Client: Coalition to Reduce Spending Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator Description: For the summer of 2013 I received a graphic design internship with Market Aces, LLC. While working for them, a previous client approached the firm with the idea to create a membership portal for their existing page. The page would enable users to become politically active for their cause through a variety of features, and their activism would be tracked for points. The project was incredibly involved, with four tabs for individual types of content, and tabs within those larger tabs with a variety of functions. I designed the back end system and a landing page to promote the site, as well as illustrated badges for the points program.

Anomie Short Comic Published in: FSU Sequential Art Anthology 2 Tools: Adobe Photoshop Description: an-o-mie: personal unrest, alienation, and anxiety that comes from a state where there is a mismatch between individual values and larger social mores For our sequential art class, my classmates and I were required to create a twelve page short comic for an anthology, however my comic extends to 14 pages. For my theme I chose to delve into the complexities of “Golden Age Thinking” and the craving for ideal love, exploring it from the standpoint of an addiction. People often watch shows like Downton Abbey, longing for a simpler ”better“ more beautiful time, and in my comic the industry Weltschmerz Interactive (roughly translating to world-weariness) capitalizes on this disenchantment. One of their employees, Anomie, becomes addicted to the system she is helping to create, and forges an imaginary lover. The reader is brought into her fantasy as if it is the actual story, only to be shocked into the actual narrative.

Undergraduate Thesis Film Stop Motion and 2D Animation Shows: Exit Strategy; BFA Fall 2012 Graduation Exhibition Tools: Final Cut, Adobe AfterEffects Description: The Fox Bride’s Wedding March began as a project that’s aim was to utilize my dual majors in Japanese and Animation in order to create a short animated film for my thesis. Taking a whole year from concept to it’s gallery premiere, the entirety of the three and a half minute short was constructed, filmed, and edited by myself and a small group of volunteers who helped with various tasks. The production process divided neatly into five stages: storyboard, set and puppet creation, filming, post-production animations, and final editing and color correction. Working in stop motion rather then two dimensional animation was ambitious, but the final result is a wholly hand-crafted film that carries love and care in every frame. Frames were assembled in Final Cut, eyes and mouths were drawn on frame by frame in Photoshop, and backgrounds as well as final edits were done in AfterEffects.
Please go to www.vimeo.com/eurogabby to see the entire film.
