Don Chuy asked for a house that he could afford paying, because the goverment gave him the opportunity to become the legal owner of a piece of land, providing proper roads and the basic services for all the houses of the area.

Don Chuy is a men who works collecting objects and garbage to recycle, from the industries. His family and him established in a place called El Ranchito. This place is full of families who are illegally stablished, most of them are immigrant people with very low incomes. Their homes are temporary, built with recycled materials that are colected by themselves. In El Ranchito the houses do not have basic public services and any public infraestructure.

4. Start the construction in the corners of the house

5. Before aplying the join must moisten the bricks

6. Cuts in the bricks for installations and armed columns

During the past years a great amount of artists have started to emerge in the city of Monte rrey, Nuevo Leon, without a proper space to work or exhibit their pieces of art. This is why this project is proposed, in order to give the emergent artist not only a space for them to exhibit their work but also a place to live. So not only the local artists can use the workshops but also artists from other places can come and create a cultural exchange of the arts.

The project is located in a school district and has also in his context the first modernist church built in Mexico, La Purisima, the plaza in front of the church is a very used place by the people, as well as a referenced point in downtown Monterrey.

THE COVER Captures the attention of the people, not only from the area but from the city of Monterrey, promoting the art and culture.

Gives shadow to the patio and terrace areas, so these can be used for the people in the extreme hot weather of Monterrey that is 35* C in summer time

A game of hexagonal shadows is created with the movement of the sun.

The structure of the cover is made by canals, these canals conduce the water, the water is collected and recycled for the usage in the building.
