FIRST DAY HIGH ARTICLE BY LANCE CHINGKOE
It was the first day of classes for the high school students. I felt really nervous and sort of excited. I was nervous because of all the challenges ahead of me and also the thought of who would be my classmates, and I felt excited because I can finally feel what it’s like to be a high school student also for the black pants.
Once I entered the classroom I can already see the nervousness on the other students too. The sweat on their faces and the look on their faces make it pretty obvious.
So today it’s already the fourth quarter and I’m laughing at my past and asked myself why I was so scared before. Being part of high school is pretty fun, I made lots of friends from the higher grades, and had lots of experience. We should stand up and stop hiding in the shadows of others. Make your light shine show it to others, don’t keep it to yourself.
TRY AND TRY ARTICLE BY LANCE CHINGKOE My accomplishments in high school so far, is becoming a class officer. Being the secretary for my class motivates me to come to school early so it is an advantage. In my first year of high school I have joined a committee and a club, it gives me experience and can help me be more responsible as a student.
Another of my accomplishments is that I have joined many competitions. This will help me improve my skills so in the future I won’t make the same mistakes in the next few high school years I have. It can also help me for future references, like maybe I can put it on my college application. All these accomplishments in high school, all these challenges that I have overcome, these will help me in my future.
Hi’s and Hello’s ARTICLE BY GAB ACHACOSO In High School, you will not only meet your old classmates or new batchmates, but you will also be meeting the new teachers and other High School members. Teachers are very kind and friendly in High School. They will always be there for you and they will be there incase you need their help. In class, they might be strict, but it’s because they just want you to do better. They will guide you in any problem as long as they can handle it.
Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are part of the High School in Xavier, but a bit longer stay than us. Some of them maybe very bad at first, but once you get to know them better, you will find out that they’re nothing to be afraid of and you might even have the same or common interests.
When you try to know them, it’s not that hard because they are just like Grade School teachers. They can also be your friends, chat buddies, etc. They are just like us Xaverians, so we shouldn’t be afraid of them. Just say the usual “Hi Cher!” and they will say hello to you back.
They like people who have common interests, so it’s a point if you share any same likes or hobbies. It is a high possibility of them becoming friends with them if you’re in a club (e.g Glee Club, X-Sports, etc). Don’t be shy and just try to talk to them and surely, you will have friends from the higher batch.
“#1BPRIDE” ARTICLE BY GAB ACHACOSO
THE ALL-STAR SECTION THAT MADE IT THROUGH THE WHOLE YEAR. The whole HIGH 1B of Batch 2012-2013 were one of the sections that had tough challenges, but was able to make it through with the help of teamwork. With the mix of bronze and brains, the whole section was able to become a success when it came to activities like the Filipino Pop Quiz. They are also very friendly, proven by them winning the Most Accommodating Booth of XCALIBUR (Xavier Fair 2013).
Some challenging activities for them was the creation of the fair booth, recitals, etc. But, with the help of their class adviser, Mr. Glenn Gomez, they were able to have a guide and pass the challenges with flying colors. Sometimes, the class might have had disputes, but they were sure to get over with and forgive each other. That’s what makes High 1B. The qualities of being compassionate, friendly and many more.
GOODBYE? TESTIMONIES FROM THE EDITORS
My last memories of high school, these will be the memories I will hold most dear. All my friends I have made, all my classmates, the memories of them will be the best. So many things I’ll miss from my first year of high school, the classroom, the corridor and other facilities. The classes laughtrips and emotional moments. The memories of the first time I entered that classroom I will never forget.
My first year in High School will be one of my most memorable ones of my stay in Xavier School. It taught me that Xavier High School is not that much scary and it even strengthened my experiences with my batchmates. I will miss my class, the joy and laughter of me and my seatmates and all the fun I had in the second floor of the High School building.
