The Beat Goes On! Music of the Baby Boomers

The Sounds of America

Jack Everly, conductor

It’s a celebration of American music and the history of “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Enjoy iconic music by some of our nation’s greatest composers, including Gershwin, Duke Ellington, John Williams, George M. Cohan, and more. A special guest narrator will join the Orchestra for performances of Aaron Copland’s iconic Lincoln Portrait. Plus, in honor of the Veterans Day weekend, we will pay tribute to the men and women of our military with a selection of patriotic favorites and an Armed Forces Salute.

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and six incredible vocalists turn back the clock to the 1960s when the "Fab Four" took the world by storm, The Beach Boys made summer "endless," and The Supremes put Motown on the map. Reminisce with music from television, the movies, and the airwaves, including hits by Burt Bacharach, Simon & Garfunkel, Frankie Valli, and more.

Bob Bernhardt, conductor
