Finding full text e-books through MyiLibrary
Step 1. Go to the library website http://www.library.mmu.ac.uk/ and click on Electronic Library.
Step 2. Choose the E-books link
Step 3. Choose M for MyiLibrary from the alphabetical list.
Step 4. Click on Access from outside MMU
Step 5. Log in with your MMU network ID and password
Step 6. Use the Quick Search option to search for a book, title or keyword. In this case, search for Learning to Teach in the Secondary School: A companion to school experience (published 2005).
Step 7. You may have to scroll through the results to find the appropriate e-book. Once found, select the title, by clicking on Open now. The extract that you need to read is Unit 5.1 – Ways Pupils learn by Diana Burton pp. 244-258. Simply click on the Go to Page: box at the bottom of the screen and type in 244 to take you to the start of the unit.
Step 8. This opens the full text and then you can read the relevant chapter as above. N.B. There is a limit to the number of people who can access an individual e-book at any one time. If you are unable to connect please try again in 15 minutes.
Alternative Method – Finding e-books through the library catalogue (not just those in MyiLibrary) Step 1. Go to the library catalogue and click on More Search Options.
Step 2. If you change the location to Internet then this will search for all e-books available through the different packages, not just MyiLibrary as shown above.
