KEEPING AN EYE ON CRIME It’s one thing to have your eye on someone affectionately, but it’s a crime to throw it at people. Just ask Edward Dorsey- the 54-year-old arrested in Florida after an early morning domestic dispute that landed him in the hospital where he then allegedly lobbed his glass eye at an emergency room doctor and nurse. Dorsey was arrested early one Sunday morning after allegedly striking his wife during an 8 a.m. argument in their Largo home. According to a police report of the incident, drugs and alcohol contributed to the marital spat. He was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic charge and transported to the Largo Medical Center for

treatment. According to reports, he was told not to take his glass eye out, to which he replied, “I can do whatever I feel like doing.” That’s true – but it cost him a felony charge. Dorsey allegedly popped out his glass eye and hurled it across the emergency room toward the ER doctor and ER nurse. It’s unclear whether the eye hit anyone, although it doesn’t appear to have caused any injuries. Police charged Dorsey with battery on an emergency medical care provider- a felony- and locked him up under $30,000 bond on both charges.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
