Visiting my friend’s home always causes a serious case of house envy. The space that makes me swoon every time we stay with her and her family for the weekend is their fabulous loft conversion. With its floor-to-ceiling glazing, Juliet balcony, separate dressing room (think of the shoe storage!) and elegant en-suite bathroom, it’s like a little sanctuary, and one I’d love to relax in at the end of a busy day. Not only does it look amazing, but it’s completely transformed the house, giving them the extra room they need without the hassle of moving home. Wondering if your loft could help you achieve just that? Turn to page 117 to discover how converting the empty space at the top of your house could dramatically improve the way you live in your home. If you’re after a decorating project with more instant but no less impressive results, then this month’s stunning feature on turning a blank wall into a wow-factor display space is a must read. With plenty of inspiring ideas that can be easily achieved in just a few hours or over a bank holiday weekend, you’ll soon be creating an envy-inducing scheme of your own. Happy decorating!
