Questio nnaire • EVERYTHING STARTED… during holidays in Gotland. I love Gotland – its simple quiet charm. It inspired me and gave me the strength to change my life. I wanted to make my own island here – a nice uncomplicated world. I thought I must start working in harmony with myself, doing what I can do and like doing. As soon as I returned, I quit my job and bought 20 skeins of cotton. • MY WORKS… they are not wacky at all. I like creating things that are nice in a simple way. Fluffy. • THE BIGGEST SATISFACTION... is when a kid grabs my toy and won't let it go. And then I get an email from the mother in which she is writing how she is happy with the kid's joy. • WHAT INSPIRES ME… is children's ideas. Especially my 6-year-old daughter gives me incredible ideas. And consequently demands their release. • I ADMIRE… my newly- met friend who half a year ago started to learn to sew, and today is successfully selling her masterpieces – simple and beautiful, creative and sewn with passion. • THE NEAREST PLANS… not so long ago I found a real treasure – a draft of a wooden toy from the childhood made by my grandpa. He could make real wonders. That toy is no longer around, but basing on the draft I will try to recreate it for my children. • WHAT I'M DREAMING ABOUT… is a house on Gotland with a workshop and a shop in the barn. • IN A FREE TIME… I grow up to the art of doing nothing. • IN MY CHILDHOOD… I used to hide under my mum's skirt and would fall asleep with the sewing machine in the background. • THE WORLD OF A CHILD… is much closer to the adults' world than it seems. phot. private archives
