Director’s Notes Happy summer to one and all. We hope everyone out there has had a fantastic spring and Easter/May bank holidays. The weather has done its bit to appease all types of beer drinkers... from rain and cold to get those casks flying, to red hot summer days to get the keg and ciders moving out the door. We’ve had a busy spring behind the scenes here at Funky HQ. Whilst every quarter we look to update our offering and bring you the very best cask, cider and keg offering available, we also are looking at new, innovative breweries and products from across the globe that we can add into our portfolio and help benefit our customer base. In the coming months, we the directors have the enviable task of being invited out to Norway, USA and Belgium to sign up some deals for a range of really exciting imported brands that we are sure will be really interesting for most of you out there. Our current cask offering has had a freshen up as we like to do every quarter. Not only have each and every core brewery changed up their offering for the summer, but we have also added a number of brand new breweries. Bluestone, Tenby, Black Storm, Flying Monk, Quantock, Turpins, Pershore, Bedlam, Driftwood, Oscars and West Coast Rock all head up the new arrivals. Whilst we have some returning favourites in the likes of Bristol Beer Factory. In addition As most of you that deal with us at Funky already know, we like to keep the offering fresh all the time and work to our live stock sheets, rotating this offering around all through the summer. Please keep a close eye on these stock sheets every week as we often get offered some really cool, last minute “special stuff” that won’t feature in the brochure... stuff you really won’t want to miss. I’d like to take this opportunity to talk a little more about our exclusive German beer, Dinkelacker Schwaben-Brau. The brewery is the oldest and largest in the Baden Wuttenburg (South West) region of Germany and located in the centre of Stuttgart. The brewery encompasses 4 sub brands....Dinkelacker, Schwaben-Brau, Sanwald and Wulle Bier. Each of these breweries brings something different and quirky to the fold. From wheat beers, Helles and Pilsner style lagers to the one of a kind Hopfenwunder, there really is a fantastic range to choose from. We have investment opportunities with POS and glassware to rival any brand out there. We will also send Kieran down to train your staff and hold events for your customers. Please contact Kieran or Gareth to arrange for a meeting on this exciting brand and investment opportunity. On this page you can see a few pictures from Kieran, our Sales Director, and his good friend and performer Shane Nolan on their road trip earlier in the year. The guys took Kieran’s 3 French Bulldogs Sylvio, Paulie and Furio in a camper van on a tour of some of our partner breweries. They visited Mobberley Brewhouse, had an eventful night in Cardiff with the Tiny Rebel gang, called in to see Alex at Mad Dog Brewing Co and finished at The Point in Talacre for a night of craft beer and karaoke. You can see more in depth on their instagram pages @kieranmurphfunkybeers and @iamshanenolan. Finally, as we look to diversify our portfolio and expand our brand, we also look to expand our team. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Gemma, Graeme and Damian to the team. All of the guys are industry stalwarts and know the ins and outs of the licensed trade so will be fantastic additions to the team and really helpful for any of your accounts they will be managing. Big citrus and tropical notes with a slight floral hint on the nose and a well balanced body. Flavours of mango and grapefruit delight the taste receptors. A 4.2% session monster!.
Blood orange aroma and flavour is at the forefront of this fruit forward IPA. Standing on a heavy oat malt base Orange Fury gives a soft, full body, moderate citrus sweetness and the right amount of bitterness to finish. Many oranges were harmed in the making of this beer.
