ABOUT THE PROJECT From 16th to 23rd of October 2017, 36 representatives of Fundacja Aktywni w Europie, Young Europeans for Peace and Y.E.A.S.T. Youth Europe Around Sustainability Tables took part in the youth exchange "Eurotrip" supported by Erasmus + Programme and organized by Fundacja Aktywni w Europie (Sosnowiec, Poland).

The youth exchange took place in Poronin (Poland), beautiful, small village next to Zakopane. 30 young people and 6 leaders from Bulgaria, Poland and Italy met together to collaborate, work in international team, gain new knowledge, make new friends and what is the most important – to carry out the schedule of Eurotrip.

*** EUROTRIP YOUTH EXCHANGE ***

The project was a combination of passion of traveling and European topics (European Union, its history, mechanisms, European institutions and how they work). The aim of the project was to gain new knowledge and skills related to the main topic – European Union, its history, mechanisms of functioning and European institutions and to become a citizen and European who is aware of European reality. As a young people, whose passion is traveling, we have decided to expand our European topics and to gain also a knowledge about places, related to the EU and their material culture.

THE DAILY PEEP

ABOUT THE PROJECT The exchange program was very tight – we have organized a lot of activities, thematic workshops related to the main topics. We participated in a meeting in the Siemacha Association and we took part in city games in Zakopane and in Krakow. During the 8 days of our youth exchange, we learned a lot about our cultures and local cultur. We expanded our knowledge related to European topics and made new friends. For some of us it was first experience of working in international group. We think we achieved all of our aims. Project Eurotrip was a great experience for all of us and unforgettable adventure.

INTEGRATION *** LET'S BEGIN! ***

Hello! Nice to meet you!!!

English? No problem! THE DAILY PEEP

From the first days of our youth exchange, the weather and our moods were perfect. The eight-day meeting in Poronin within the Eurotrip project, we started with integration, trust building and team building activities. During those activities we could get to know each other better, break some stereotypes and also break languages barriers. For many of us it was first experience when we were able to communicate with our peers in English. All activities which we prepared were interesting and helped us a lot. We had also a lot of fun. We can surely say, we created great, international team.Â

MAIN ACTIVITIES Within our youth exchange, we prepared many thematic activities and workshops, which have allowed us to deepen our knowledge and get new information the functioning of the European Union.

What do you know about EU?

We went on a historic journey, familiarizing with the most important moments in the history of the European Union, gaining new knowledge of the European institutions such as the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European Council, the Court of Justice of the European Union or the European Central Bank. We discussed the pros and cons of free movement of EU citizens between countries and the Schengen Agreement. Very important topic for us was an active citizenship among young people. THE DAILY PEEP

MAIN ACTIVITIES Our project also focused on the passion of traveling, therefore we conducted activities and workshops related to the European Capitals of Culture and the most important tourist destinations related to the history and functioning of the EU.Â

THE DAILY PEEP

Through the interesting activities we spent a great time together and we learned a lot. We connected important information for us - young citizens and Europeans and our hobby - traveling. Now, we know history of the EU and the most important documents for us and our countries. We are aware of how European institutions work and where they are located. We could present our points of view, exchange different arguments on different topics and discuss with each other. We realized also how traveling is important for us, as a young people nowadays we can travel and "touch and feel" a history, learn by visiting interesting places and we should appreciate this amazing opportunity.

CITY GAME - ZAKOPANE An additional element in our schedule was a short visit to Zakopane – the most famous town in this region of Poland and the capital of winter sports. Divided into small, international teams, we took part in city game which enabled us to integrate even more with each other. Thanks to all city game tasks we could familiarize with the history, architecture, tradition and folklore of Zakopane and Podhale region.Â

SIEMACHA

As a group of participants, we also visited Krakow – former European Capital of Culture. Our day was divided into two parts. First part was a visit to local association – SIEMACHA. Association provides a system to help children and young people in education, education, therapy and physical development. Its headquarters is in Kraków, but it is active nationwide, and has branches in Katowice and Tarnów, which coordinate the work of the association in the south-west and south-east respectively. It is named in honour of Father Kazimierz Siemaszko, who invented peer group education around 1900. During the meeting, we found out about the association's activities, discussed our project and the European awaraness among young people.

CITY GAME - KRAKOW

Next part of our visit was to take part in city game in Krakow. Again, divided into international teams we were working together and exloring the city. Krakow as a former European Capital of Culture is amazing and surely worth to visit. City game was very interesting and involving all of us.

TRAVEL AGENCY One of our task during youth exchange in Poronin was to prepare a travel plan of our European journey. Divided into small groups we were working as a owners of travel agencies, presenters, travelers and guides. Every single group had a time to arrange their scene and present effects of work, involving all of us in activities.

LAST MOMENTS The last moments of international youth exchange "Eurotrip" were extremely difficult for all of us. We spent 8 days together, integrating with each other, collaborating with each other, gaining new knowledge, developing our passions and having fun. Surely it was unforgettable experience, which brought many memories, teached us a lot, changed our attitudes and changes us.
