Mother’s Day has always been a blessing to me. Yesterday I had the privilege of baptizing Katherine Ann Mitchell, Joy Elizabeth Snyder, Laura Anderson and Josh Anderson. It was a blessing to see them held or standing by their parents and grandparents. It was really a celebration as we watched our faith passed from one generation to the next. And it will be exciting to watch them grow in grace and wisdom, even as Jesus grew. My invitation to you today is to ask you to be involved in the Mission and Ministry of the First UMC of Joplin. There is a place for you here. And, “Together We Can,” make a difference. I believe that First UMC of Joplin not only has an historic past but it also has a preferred future; where people change their hearts and lives. I believe that God works through the appointive system and we are getting the right person to lead us into that new vision. Please begin, if you haven’t already, to pray for Rev. Marsha West Eichler and her husband Dean as they come to be with us. I will keep you in my prayers. If you have not signed up for our Capital Campaign Dinner on June 3, at 5:30. Please do so soon. Grace and Peace, Bob Howard
