In September of 2023, Will Waldrip embarked on a journey alongside his great friend and outfitter, Lance Kronberger, to hunt rutting bull moose in Alaska. They found themselves in a valley with no shortage of bulls. Similar to hunting elk in the rut, most of the larger bulls were preoccupied with cows, making it exceedingly challenging to get within bow range as they remained unresponsive to calls. After numerous failed attempts, Will suddenly found himself caught between two mature bulls on the verge of a confrontation. Before he knew it, the two bulls were 10 yards away, completely oblivious to what was about to happen.

For Paul McCarty, hunting and shed hunting the pacific northwest were his passions, but his obsession was the elusive Roosevelt bull elk. Amongst the dense, wet terrain filled with thorns of Washington’s logging country these elk haunted his thoughts year-round.
In late 2020, Paul’s world was shaken when his mother, Diane, was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. Throughout her grueling treatment regimen of chemo, radiation, and surgeries, Paul struggled to witness his biggest supporter and life coach endure such pain. Diane, a selfless and vibrant soul who adored her grandkids, faced an unfair battle against a terrible disease.
By mid-2021, draw results revealed Paul had finally secured his limited entry elk tag in his home state of Washington after many years of applying. Despite his mother’s condition, she insisted he not give up the tag, as if hoping to witness her son’s success one last time. Tragically, a week and half before the season’s opening, she passed away.

Emmerson, 11 years old, is the eldest daughter of Blake Mallory and has been hunting for the past three years. However, with only three years of hunting she has been shooting archery since she was 3 years old. Blake has been filming her progression from toy bows to compound, where she is now pulling 42lbs. Emmerson insisted on taking her bow into the woods during the Michigan 2023 youth season, even though she was allowed to hunt with a firearm. On September 10th, the final day of the Michigan youth season, Emmerson went to the woods with the hope of tagging her first archery buck. The evening started off exciting with numerous buck just out of her 22 yard max range. Finally, about 45 minutes before dark the biggest buck on the property ends up coming down the main trail at 13 yards. The 150”+ whitetail walks perfectly broadside and the 11 year old performs like a seasoned pro.

Public Land Nevada. Plenty of it. Desolate in some parts, neighborly in others. Altitudes cresting 10,000’ with temperature swings of 50 degrees from dawn to dusk. Steep, north/south running ridge lines expediting spring runoff. It’s no secret that the Nevada high desert is an unforgiving destination. But a destination we call home.
The Raw Hunt Crew takes on a public land archery mule deer tag in a popular area. After laying eyes on a buck that was seemingly out of place, the chase was on. This is a raw recollection of the relentless pursuit of a buck that was given the callsign, “Pitchfork.”

TRUST is more than a handshake. It’s the foundation of honesty, reliability, and caring between two individuals. Ryan DeCook, an elk hunter, finds a trustworthy archery technician to ensure his equipment functions flawlessly during a critical shot opportunity. The film highlights the importance of building a strong relationship between the bow technician and the hunter. As a Michigan resident, Ryan draws one of two non-resident tags in the San Juan Elk Unit. In his sixth year of applying, he was successful with a .09% draw odd. The excerpt portrays trust as an essential element, not just a formality, in the hunter’s pursuit within the San Juan Elk Unit of Utah.
