MORE THAN A BOW

This is a philosophy forged in aluminum.

VTM was refined until it redefined the shooting experience. Built not only to seamlessly integrate with accessories, but engineered to become better with them. When tested with Hoyt In-Line accessories, VTM actually showed a vibration reduction, a feat nothing short of mind-blowing. The only way to fully understand is to shoot it. HUNT FISH KAUAI

We had an Alaskan moose hunt booked for two years and found out in early 2022 that our original plan had to be cancelled because of a booking error. After going back and forth with the pilot and coordinator, we were offered a true pioneering adventure in the Brooks Range. It was an inaccessible river that we had to drag our camp and rafts 5 miles overland to get to flowing water. The access being tough, our camp and gear were as minimal as a float hunt can be. As far as anyone knew, the river system had never been hunted so we had to be ready for anything. The moose density was low but due to no pressure, we were hoping on encountering some mature bull. We had 12 days to navigate the canyon and reach our pickup point 60 miles down river. We experience some of the most beautiful weather we could ask for in late September in the Brooks, and also got caught in a 50 year storm. The beautiful stream we had been floating turned into a menacing brown river. It took our full physical and mental determination to execute this hunt and navigate this river. It was the wildest adventure you could imagine in modern day and we were blessed with 2 trophy class bulls.

way up west

With less than 4% draw odds, Jess somehow pulls a coveted Nevada archery Mule Deer tag. Our focus for hunting season shifted to this tag immediately. A summer scouting trip with friends who knew the area gave us confidence by seeing nice bucks and we had a good starting point come season opener.

As August rolled around and 10 days allotted for this hunt, we headed south – finding target bucks the very first night. But, as big bucks do, they didn’t cooperate by either bedding in tough stalking terrain or not presenting shots as they left their beds that Jess stalked in on.

After many days and multiple attempts to notch an out of state tag – dirty, dusty, sunburned, and tired Jess was able to hang her tag on one of the original bucks from the first night in Nevada.

raised in the rut filmmaker

When our son was born just over three years ago, we decided to start filming our adventures as a family. We needed to give our new endeavor a name. So we decided to call ourselves “Raised in the Rut”. Our intentions were just that, to raise our son in the outdoors, pursuing the wildlife we love during magical times like the elk rut in our home state of Colorado. We wanted to film it all so that we can show the world that it is never too soon to start kiddos in the outdoors. We find it very important to live up to our name and constantly be able to show our viewers how we live for the brand. Randy’s 2022 archery elk hunt couldn’t have been a better representation of who we are and what we do. We found ourselves in a rut fest that most people can only dream of experiencing. The fact that our three year old son got to be right there for it all is the most incredible thing that we could imagine. Bow has had the front row seat to several successful hunts already, but this one was by far the most exciting and unforgettable. As the time passes, Bow still has yet to let a day go by without talking about daddies bull. We cannot wait to hear the audience’s reactions as they watch this unreal September memory...

Winning the lottery is such long odds that is nothing more than a childish dream, right? Too bad it will never happen, or at least for most of us. On June 12th, 2022, Wayne Endicott logged into the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife website to check the status of his draw results. Expecting to be disappointed, Wayne saw something very unfamiliar and unexpected. The word “selected” was displayed next to his sheep application. In disbelief, Wayne shut off his phone and rebooted. When he logged back into the state website, a wave of emotion fell over him. After 45 years of applying for a sheep tag in Oregon, Wayne drew his dream tag. A California Bighorn Sheep hunt was no longer a childhood dream, it would soon become a reality. Not just Wayne, but his son Nathan and his wife Lisa were able to be a part of the once-in-a-lifetime hunt. The hunt allows for any legal weapon, however, Wayne held true to his love for bowhunting and was successful in harvesting a beautiful ram with his bow. What a joy it was for a son to film his dad on a 45-year wait, dream come true, a once-in-alifetime hunt. Endicott Films hopes you enjoy the hunt and the fulfillment of something special and unexpected, a Deschutes Desert Dream.

lone goat media

Living an incredibly busy life as a family man, farm owner and successful insurance agent, Shane Vander Giessen finds his peace through the pursuit of epic adventures in wild places far from the beaten trail. Mountain goats and the rocky crags they inhabit epitomize the backcountry environs that Shane seeks out. The “beast the color of winter” occupies some of the most inhospitable terrain in the world and the idea of seeking an ancient billy on his home turf are the dreams of many a mountain hunter. By luck-of-the-draw and playing the odds….Shane managed to acquire (2) highly coveted mountain goat tags in back to back seasons after countless years of putting in for these hunts. His fascination for mountain goats started at a young age after hearing his stories of his dad chasing goats and spending decades observing and photographing goats in Washington’s Mt. Baker Wilderness. Now for the first time in his hunting career he has an opportunity to create a monumental chapter in what is just the beginning of his documented journey. With his supportive family rooting for him back home, he embarks after what he refers to as the BUCKET LIST.

the lifestyle

Limited draw units are special, no matter the state, but some states and units just produces giants. This is a story about going on a “typical” elk hunt in Utah that just so happens to be in one of the best limited entery units there is. What’s a typical elk hunt you might ask… Well it depends on who you talk to, but for many, its waking up hours before daylight and logging miles on the boots. Stopping here and there to rip a bugle in hopes of a response. Then scheming up a plan to get in close. Isn’t that what elk hunting is all about? Chasing deep gnarly bugles until you are in the middle of them?

Plans are made, dates are set, packing has begun and then a GIANT bull shows himself! However, he lives in a deep nasty hole on top of a mountain. Plans now change. No glassing (looking from a distance with binoculars or spotting scope) him up and keeping tabs on him or knowing his whereabouts, this leaves Kyle with very few options. It’s time to ambush him in his own bedroom from a highly hung tree stand. Although, Mother Nature has other plans. First, torrential downpours followed my insanely hot weather for weeks. Thus, putting a damper on movement and any sort of rut activity...

raising backcountry kids

lane walter filmmaker

Becca and Lane Walter take their two boys Easton (8) and Camden (6) on their first backpacking elk hunt. The boys have been raised around hunting but this is the first time they will have to pack some of their own gear on their backs and hopefully see some rutting elk!

Lane is a career firefighter and avid bowhunter. Growing up hunting, Lane started to pack a video camera so that he could share his experiences with friends and family. That passion to tell a story is still the motivation for him to pack a camera on every hunt today. Lane attended his first Fulldraw Film Tour around the same time he started to run a camera for a TV show and was instantly inspired by the amazing film work that he had seen. Today Lane works as a freelance field producer & photographer, partnering with companies whose products he already uses, to capture photos and video while he is in the field. When he is not on his own adventures, Lane is working for shows like The Crush, Pure Hunting ect. When Lane is not working on projects for other companies he is working on personal projects/films.
