The Bad Vibes Club reads Martin Heidegger’s ‘The Thing’

In February 2018, The Bad Vibes Club went to Liverpool for two days of physical activity and gentle thought. Part of our two days together was reading Martin Heidegger’s interesting and bewildering essay ‘The Thing’. It is hard, dense theory, and occasionally full of shit, but we read it aloud, discussed it as we went and made some sense of it. The following pages present selections of his text, notes by the group and things we Googled. If you want to read the full essay you can find it here http://people.ischool.berkeley.edu/~ryanshaw/nmwg/the.thingheidegger.pdf

Thanks to the people who came along to the sessions ( Louis Tuckman, Sufea Mono , Raphaella Davies, Jamie Sorensen, Gregory Herbert), thanks to CBS Gallery for hosting us, and thanks to Kevin Hunt and fs for inviting me to bring The Bad Vibes Club to Liverpool.
