A glorious program of classical music is in store when Moscow’s finest young string ensemble, the Russian String Orchestra, brings its trademark virtuosity, high energy and warmth to the Pealer Recital Hall. The program includes Gioacchino Rossini’s playful Sonata for Strings, written by the composer at the young age of 12; Sergey Prokofiev’s vibrant Visions Fugitives, Opus 22; and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s sweeping Serenade for Strings, Opus 48.

Based on E.L. Konigsburg’s beloved Newbery Medal-winning classic, this enchanting musical follows Claudia Kincaid and her brother Jamie up the stone steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and into the middle of an adventure surrounding a mysterious statue that may or may not be the work of Italian Renaissance artist Michelangelo.
