Ringling Barnum Bros & Bailey Presents Dragons Article by: Sharon Torres, Photos by: German Forno & Rhonda Costa

Photo of the Week!

During June 27 and July 2 the Ringling Barnum Bros & Bailey Circus held a fantastic show. On June 28th some of Buckeye’s residents joined the Buckeye Valley News in watching their amazing show. There was so much to see — the lions were just awesome. There were dog shows and cat shows. Yes, that’s right, cats. I would have thought the dogs could teach the cats tricks. Like I said there was so much to see. If you missed this year you need to be sure and see the it next year. Also the circus had a special day that was on June 27th. This started the grand opening with a circus-style "touch." It kicked off with the festivities with local Kelly the Clown Photo by: German Forno members of the Virginia G. Piper Sports & Fitness Center for Persons with Disabilities (SpoFit). The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey performers will participate in the first-ever “Dragon Games,” an Olympics-themed event created especially for SpoFit members. These friendly CircusFit games, filled with lots of fun and laughter will be sure to bring out the four Dragon Warrior traits in all of us! Activities include: Heart – Creative Movement/Dance/Warm-up exercises, Strength – Rock Wall Climbing / Hula Hooping, Courage – Special Basketball game, Wisdom – Juggling / Ringmaster Trivia.Plus extraordinary performances by the world renowned Ringling Bros.® Clown Alley and the famed Shaolin Warriors martial arts troupe! About SpoFit: The Virginia G. Piper Sports & Fitness Center for Persons with Disabilities (SpoFit) is located in Phoenix, Arizona, and is a program of Arizona Bridge to Independent Living (ABIL).
