RESIDENT ASSISTANTS

Don't know anyone at Friends? That's okay!

When you move into your residence hall, you'll be greeted by your Resident Assistant, or RA! RAs are part of the Residence Life team here at Friends, and want to help make your transition to the Friends community a smooth one. Your RA is excited to meet you!

What does an RA do?

RAs help students transition into life at college, and navigate the new environment. You can find RAs on duty every night in the main office, or planning programs around the hall for residents to enjoy. They're there to answer questions, assist with problems, and play a role in helping keep our residence halls and campus safe

RAs host programs each month, create bulletin boards to keep students informed, and have a weekly duty night to be available to residents for questions, problems, or just to hang out!

What makes them qualified?

RAs are chosen through a three-part application process Once hired, they complete an online course that prepares them for fall training. The team is trained for two weeks leading up to the start of fall classes, and attend lectures pertaining to mental health, fire and weather safety, campus resources, and more.
