 BJP gets a majority in the State Assembly elections.  BJP wins all 4 seats from Gurgaon District – Gurgaon (Umesh Aggarwal), Badshahpur (Rao Narbir Singh), Sohna (Tejpal Tanwar) and Pataudi (Bimla Chaudhary). Manohar Lal Khattar is the new CM. Congress loses Rohtak (to BJP) after 27 years, despite the outgoing CM’s shower of gifts to his ‘home’ constituency! All the 5 accused in the alleged ‘cashfor-CLU’ scam lose in the elections (4 were fielded by the Congress). Women vote in high numbers during the Assembly polls. 14 are booked for violence during polling in Gurgaon Dist.; repolling is carried out in 5 Mewat constituencies. Over 1,000 candidates lose their deposits (get less than 1/6th of total votes in their constituencies). High Court seeks ‘plot scam’ details

and names of beneficiaries, from HUDA; threatens to involve CBI if there are further delays.  City businessman shoots and kills his wife in their Palam Vihar house after a heated argument, allegedly over his extramarital affair.  2 Naga youths are racially abused and beaten in Sikanderpur Ghosi village; 7 locals are charged; 3 have been caught and booked. Centre announces that a special police force in the City will help protect the people from the Northeast. City Police arrange a meeting between the villagers of Sikanderpur and people from the Northeast, to reduce the prevailing tension. A representative Committee has been formed, to ensure that regular communication is maintained and there is no repeat of the violence.  A woman is allegedly raped in a hotel, where she had gone for an ‘interview’.  An HDFC manager in Palam Vihar is

booked for allegedly trying to molest a colleague. A woman doctor in Sushant Lok 1 files a case of obscenity against a resident. A Class 9 student falls from the second floor of his school building in Sector 9, but survives. The Deputy Mayor’s son is reported missing. Over 100 huts in a slum near Sushant Lok are gutted – hundreds of migrants are rendered homeless.

 The Anna Hazare statue in the City is vandalised.  The barrier set up on the road near Ambience Mall is allegedly causing traffic snarls.  Ambience Lagoon residents allege ‘arm-twisting’ tactics by the builder.  DHBVN offers Tatkal scheme - a new power connection in 7 days. The extra cost would be Rs 1,000 per kW for domestic users.  Dengue and Malaria are on the rise in the City.
