Over the next year, there were a few more poems here and there but it wasn’t until December 2023 when grief struck unexpectedly that the majority of the book was written. It is to be noted that "Fireflies in a Mason Jar" started as a reflection on childhood and a grieving of innocence and rapidly turned into a grieving of a loved one after unimaginable loss.
